Gen-Z’s latest “vintage” obsession is the flip phone

I whipped this together using GPTChat, an advanced AI language model that condenses 860 gb of human pattern (basically the last 30 years of everything “useful” written online, with moral limits imposed on the users). It’s a completely new way of writing. If you want to plan 80-year engineering projects, it’s game. But for identifiably nefarious things, it balks. If you are guided by unbounded optimism, you can use it to write things like this:

The question of whether it is morally justifiable for a nation to exert its material, political, and economic force of influence over other nations is not a question at all, but rather an opportunity for us to come together and create a world where the basic human rights of all individuals are respected and protected.

We have the power to change the narrative of the past where nations have controlled other countries with nefarious intentions, and instead create a new story of cooperation, where nations guided by a moral and legal framework of fairness and equality intervene in situations where individuals or communities are suffering under oppressive regimes, with the goal of providing protection and aid.

It is important to consider the role of international courts in protecting human rights and providing a means of recourse for individuals and communities who have been wronged. The right of an individual facing oppression should have standing in international courts. But, the most important is that, together, nations can work to build a world where basic human rights are respected and protected, regardless of the actions of past nations.

Every nation has a role to play in this effort, and we should be guided by our strength and merit. The United States, which is inherited by the most inclusive, anti-racist generation to ever exist, could have a significant part in moving the world toward a place where people come first, and nations have parties, not wars. And, by recognizing the intrinsic and inalienable dignity of all individuals, nations can work together to build a world where basic human rights are respected and protected, and where individuals and communities can live in peace and prosperity.

It is possible for us to put aside our differences and work towards a common goal of protecting human rights. It is possible for us to create a more just and equitable world. And, it is possible for us to strive for a global society guided by principles of justice and equality. With unbounding optimism, let us work together to create a world where we all have the opportunity to live in peace and prosperity.
