It's sucks that he had to do that, but considering the era, it makes sense. Not saying it was right. But the late 80's was not a time to come out with the AIDS/HIV crisis. So he was to be a teen heartthrob, that was geared mainly towards the girls. And well homosexuality was not as accepted now as it was then.

We have seen quite a few teen celebrities from the late 80's early 90's who are finally coming out and embracing themselves. They couldn't do it back then as they would have lost a huge fan base and society would have ruined them.

I think a number of the teen heartthrobs of the 80s and 90s would be surprised at how many of us boys in the same age group were WISHING these guys were gay. I mean, my earliest crushes in my preteen and teen years (the late 80s-early 90s) were guys like River Phoenix and Corey Haim. It took until one of the reunions to see the real appeal of any member of New Kids though. During the co-headlining tour with Backstreet Boys one of their concerts was recorded and put on TV. As soon as Donnie took his shirt off during one of the songs I told one of my friends from high school (she's a HUGE fan, travels all over to their concerts, and has been on multiple cruises of theirs) that I finally saw the appeal and part of why (also the fact that Jordan's voice had barely changed in 30+ years) lol

Nate Lopez Honestly, I love your posts so much and i always enjoy going through them in my lonely free time.
Am really sorry for invading your privacy but i would love to be friends with someone who could share such sensitive post content which means you're a man of integrity, I have wanted to add you up but sending you a friend request without your consent is inappropriate because i am a public figure and also would not take much, I will appreciate it if you do send me a friend request now so we can be friends and text better on here . Thank you

You know this is classic boy band formula, there is always one gay guy in the bunch and there is always one member of the group that gets picked out and ends up being a huge success while the others Fade Into Obscurity unless they are one of those boy bands that tour together like Backstreet Boys or New Kids on the Block, neither one of them had any members that really stood out. You would think Nick Carter would have gone Solo in Backstreet Boys but he didn't.

I can see why gay guys would be in boy bands, you can act all girly and dance, also if you aren't comfortable with your sexuality you can easily hide it because you'll have a bunch of swooning female fans swapping you to throw people off
