A New York man was arrested after allegedly threatening a shooting at Tops Friendly Markets in a social media post | CNN

Discord is the same social media site that a convicted mass shooter posted on before killing 10 people at a Tops Friendly Markets in Buffalo.

Jeffrey Burney So you're saying mass attacks are just as easy with knives or fists as with guns? Of course taking away someone's guns can help prevent gun violence.

If you're going to argue that they can obtain them illegally, know that nearly 80% of mass shooters bought their guns legally. Many of the school shooters were too socially awkward to have enough of a social network to buy guns from. The Uvalde shooter, for example, failed at buying them illegally and had to wait until he was 18.

Guns aren't easy to come by illegally for everyone.

Yes, arresting people who make threats is of course effective as well, but sometimes arresting them isn't an option OR if the individual is out on bail, it's helpful to take their firearms.

Jeffrey Burney 1. A sword. Okay. Find a country anywhere in the world where there are over 650 mass knife/sword attacks. We had over 650 mass shootings here last year.

2. Imagine you're a fourth grader trapped in a classroom (like the Uvalde victims were). Would you rather the intruder have a knife or a gun? You can't deny that guns make mass killings far easier.

3. Bombs are less likely. We actually addressed that problem after the OKC bombing, unlike what we do after school shootings.

After the OKC bombing, we created a new federal agency to address that kind of thing. We also passed legislation that limited access to some of the materials used to make the bomb.
