Nicole Nonya that’s neither here nor there. That ride SHOULD be taken down. For Christ sake he was 14. Let that mother do what she claims is giving her comfort. Why would you want to ride that ride? To have fun? Yeah so did he. I’d bet if it was your son, I’m pretty sure you would be wanting it dismantled and melted down. Stop and just think, he was 14 and just wanted to have fun. Adventureland in Iowa is going the same thing for a water ride a boy drowned on. It was one of my favorite rides, but I wouldn’t ever get on it again if they didn’t close it indefinitely and drain it and remove it. Why? Because if it happens to them, it could to anyone else.

Robin Ann Rasnake what do you mean "won't work?" It literally is working. No one will die from that ride again. You can hypothesize about what might or might not happen but that's sort of irrelevant. And I would think it's safe to say something like this won't happen at the park again because not only have they cemented a negative reputation for themselves amongst consumers, they're probably on a watch list now as a result of their violations. And I doubt they can afford to pay anymore wrongful death settlements, especially after demolishing a ride that cost them more money than it ever made in the first place.

Nicole Nonya it was irresponsible adults as well. Not sure how much they made by allowing over weight people to ride but all the money they made is now in the pockets of his parents. The kid did not have a chance you are correct about that. But just as it was seen on video it was visible to the onlookers at the ride that might because someone standing there mentioned he wasn’t latched in so why couldn’t the adult he was with see it and make him get off?! Responsibility is all around not just on the ride operator/owner nor the park

Henry Repeater You didn't touch a nerve at all, Skippy. You made an open statement about yourself and your family. I was just confirming the statement included very little thought and lots of insecurity and weakness. Typical for an insecure white man hiding behind a screen attacking an innocent boy who could have folded you in half with one hand. Very, very weak, very insecure, and expected from an insane white supremacist who must go after a kid killed tragically. I hope his family finds you. They have the ability to make you very miserable. You obviously need attention from anyone, anyway you can get it. Total losers attack children. I wonder what else you do to children to feel big, important and in control?

Just because they disassembled this ride, doesn’t mean anything. They could put a ride up even less safety regulations and oversight. How about fixing the actual problem of unregulation? There should have been a qualified mechanic specialist overseeing the ride and its safety system, daily! Most theme parks do this (I know Carowinds did, when I worked for them). Our maintenance team was all certified by the ride manufacturers to work on and inspect them, to make sure no modifications where done and the safety systems were all in place and working…
Tearing something down doesn’t work. It takes making sure all systems are in place and more oversight, regulations and rules, to keep people actually safe..

I’m just saying what we’re stop, anyone else saying. Like the ride any rides at 80 theme park now and forever if someone gets hurt or even dies on a freak accident, the family now will have the power to shut down the ride. You know people have died on the mummy at Universal Studios. Do you know someone died or even lost a hand in space Mountain You know a couple who passed away on the river, adventure, and islands, who are very old, and they had a heart attack on the ride and died at the same time All those rides are still open About that little girl, who lost her leg in six flags man of steel ride was the drop tower That ride is sill there? Bill been many deaths, not all the time at all rides around the world. Why is this one ride met something? Yes it’s sad. But you do not give the consumer power. Put something what was it could be prevented by them self

Just give it time it was gonna be a new ride in its place. They should’ve built the 500 foot roller coaster. What was supposed to be there. And the crazy thing is people die every year from old amusement fairground rides. Then rides like this she and her family needs to go down and shut down every single fairgrounds. Big parks do not allow small people like this family taking down rides just for political sympathy. They are just going to sell the ride to someone else and they get a painted up with a new name she would never know. It would be in a different country with a new name

Brenda Schultz Luther not a horrible person. I’m just stating the facts you can’t just go around and shut down take down rides. More people die on the road more people die in automobile accidents. You can even die for the average state thing you don’t see them, shutting those down closing those down even if it was a mistake on training people anything could happen. This just gives people the power to shut down rides. Just as a recently you could sue anyone for anything. You could sue just now miss information for movie trailers. Or you can sue someone about a book. What’s next year is sus someone about the soft drink made you fat. If the ride had an issue, they should’ve fixed it not tear it down. And I’m not a terrible person. I just love radio amusement rides go to the park go to roller coasters go on drop towers.
