1ºMy God ! How anyone can read this and just buy equities in pretty much any sector right
now is beyond belief. NO. I’m not suggesting you liquidate your long held great positions to assume insane tax liabilties BUT adding to your portfolio now )in any sector is beyond brave.
I don’t care how much experience you have.
No one knows how many and/Or how deep banks are in trouble.
The most sane advise anyone could give or follow right now is:

And then there’s that other shoe waiting to drop out there. Bank after Bank after Bank . . . This one (Signature) falls apart because of Crypto, that one (SVb) because it’s long term Treasuries are out of whack, the other one (Credit Suisse) because it’s asset ratios been out of whack forever And then again another one (Republic) because as a regional And I guess other reasons needs a bailout/ deposit infusion from the rest of its larger competitors. Now in the end does anyone really care about the explanation if their bank goes under and no one’s there to make it right for them ? - Of Course Not ! Now Here’s The Rest of the Problem: Many of the largest real estate companies in the world are in big trouble because only 50% of the employees are back. The rest are working from home. Add this to sky high interest rates and with mortgage renewals coming due and these multi million dollar properties are (on paper) Now worthless. There are Millions of these buildings that the banks are going to be stuck with And the banks are In No Position To Handle This.
Interest Rates will Have to fall but the kicker is that the stock market will probably go off the cliff at the same time.
. . . And then there’s Ukraine.

Then buying what’s on 'sale' is at too high of a risk.
This is one of the times where it might take more than A Year Or 'Three' To work itself out.
I believe the S&P has a great chance of going down to 3200 (20 or 25%) Maybe I’ll buy then and if it goes down Another 25% after - I don’t care. BUT from here it’s too much of a long way down.
At this time the banking system is a mess. Maybe it will sort itself out - Who knows !

As in from 1929 to 39 and then a war to end it.
Now there’s a better chance that we’ll get through this but there’s too much going on to just say in your twenties do this and in your 50’s do that Etc.
When you look at the size and scope of the preventative measures being taken to keep the banking system transactional you have to be impressed. In other words the size of the remedy is related to the odds of its success.
Let’s see how they deal with Credit Suisse.

The failure of three banks in the last two weeks, including Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank, is a saga of utter government incompetence. Call these bank collapses Biden’s Banking Busts.
President Joe Biden’s administration has been obsessing on woke causes while banks teeter toward insolvency.
Weather is a risk, but she was oblivious to the much more immediate problem facing banks — the plummeting value of the bonds they own. She was heedless to the impending downfall of SVB and possibly several other small banks that had purchased long-term bonds when interest rates were near zero.

I said you got your information from a meme and I still believe you did. Let’s assume you researched how many bank failures there were under Trump or that you got it from CNN or some other left wing hack, did you research how many Dem presidents had? Did your source of news do any comparison when they brought up 15 bank failures under Trump. Truth is, the SVB bank failed and it was their fault and the Biden Administrations fault. The New York Attorney General, Leticia James, has subpoenaed Donald Trump to be deposed in a civil fraud investigation. It appears that prosecutors intend to indict Trump in both civil and criminal cases. Attorney General James has been working closely with The Manhattan District Attorney who empaneled the 1st Grand jury last May to hear evidence of the Trump Family’s criminal activities in New York. This Grand Jury, (empaneled by retiring Manhattan District Attorney, Cyrus Vance,) indicted the Trump Organization—(of which Trump and his 3 eldest children are officers)—and also indicted the Trump Family’s Chief Financial Officer. The Trump Organization and its CFO were indicted for Tax-Fraud, Grand Larceny, and other felonies.
Since July, this Grand Jury has been busy hearing testimony from a parade of Trump employees. It is not yet known which of these employees have flipped and agreed to testify against their boss. Before the end of Vance’s term on December 31, this Grand Jury is expected to indict multiple employees, officers and members of the board of directors of the Trump Organization—including personal indictments of Donald, Ivanka, Junior and Eric Trump.
In early November, a 2nd Grand Jury was empaneled in Manhattan to investigate the difference between the value Donald Trump reported for each property on his tax filings and the value he claimed on the same property with insurance carriers.

Fulton County District Attorney, Fani Willis has a recording of Donald Trump committing the felony. She will put Brad Raffensperger—and every other Georgia Official that Trump pressured to change the vote—in the witness chair. She will subpoena Lindsey Graham, and each of Trump’s other co-conspirators. Most will flip and testify against Trump to avoid prison. Those that choose to avail themselves of their 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination, will be immunized by the court and directed to testify. It will not take long for Trump to be indicted in Georgia.
The indictments in Atlanta and New York will be followed by other criminal indictments. The District Attorney in Westchester, New York has opened a criminal investigation into Donald Trump’s finances at his Westchester golf club. Working with two former Trump insiders, the Westchester District Attorney has uncovered what is believed to be a Million Dollar Insurance Fraud.
The Congressional investigation of Trump’s attempt to overthrow the government on January 6, 2021, and Scotland’s investigation of money laundering brings the number of Donald Trump’s known criminal investigations to five. Prosecutors are preparing to indict Donald Trump in Atlanta, Manhattan, Westchester, Edinburgh, and Washington, D.C.”
