As a public servant, I can understand how desperate he was in this moment to cover up his wrongdoing (probably fueled by some of the folks on this comment thread - and in our general public - who find some sort of joy(?) in officers being caught and facing consequences and even being told they should face “double the consequences” as if that is a just, fair, logical application of our law). The public humiliation that a public servant goes through when they break a rule/law in society isn’t the same as what a regular citizen goes through.

But, solid on the officer for not letting authority deter him from doing his duty - that’s public service.

Many people who would feel empathy for a regular citizen who is pulled over and questioned for a crime and wants to defend their innocence find it way harder to empathize when it is no longer a “regular citizen.” But we’re all human beings.

April Noethe Wolford That's where you're wrong.
He's not a servant.
He's an Captain.
His position has a rank.
There are people in authority over him and there are people he has authority over.
His trust and position is financially compensated by the public's money.
Not only did he abuse the system that we ALL have to abide by. First is the DUI but he tried to exploit
YOUR/OUR (system/law) once again when he tried to use that authority over a police OFFICER just doing his job.
That's 2 crimes!
"Turn your camera off" is usually what's said before someone gets beaten'
Yeah right Public Servant

It was the turn your camera off in a whisper tone that made me chuckle by the way As a public servant,

April Noethe Wolford if he had followed the law he would not have to worry about embarrassment. He should be ashamed for trying to compromise the arresting officers' integrity by first trying to pull rank and then telling him to turn off the camera. It seems that you are of the same mind. This guy was driving drunk. His presence on the roadway endangered everyone he encountered while driving. No one cares about his desperation. Would you be of the same mind if he had crashed into a mini van and killed a family? Sounds like you would with that comment about him not being a regular person because of his work position.

Yeah lets attack the cop for being drunk... No!!! ... from one public officer to another after they found out he was a captain, this video should have been deleted since it's a DUI. This captain has given his all and doesn't deserve this humiliation. Arrest him if he broke the law but show him respect. This cop thinks he's a big man but the other cops will be looking at him sideways. I hope he won't ever need help from another cop because I pray he gets thrown under the bus.... Clearly the captain is drunk, arrest him and charge him but don't plaster his face online. He wasn't on duty, he asked respectively for his junior to turn off his camera. If the tables were turned the captain would have.
