That is certainly what Trump told his followers. But he's been known to lie. He did a lot of fund raising around the matter, so it might have just been for the money. It might have been to pull the trigger on base outrage.

What the NYC DA's office said was that they weren't at that point done with the grand jury phase. The decision of whether or not to indict would be somewhere from today on to next week or longer.

Not sure how working with to find ANY is lying to the DOJ. I'm still wondering where you believe the Biden Lawyers lied to federal investigators. However Trump and his personal lawyers did proudly it seems. More so Trumps lawyers signed their names to an official government document stating such claim on no other documents on property, furthering the deceit Trump willfully let his lawyers circumvent an ongoing investigation.
