1ºIt’s quite humorous that Biden is hosting a Summit on Democracy - especially since the US isn’t a Democracy, never has been, and as long as people like myself are around never will be. The US is a Constitutional Republic; based on a Representative Government derived from a Written Constitution.
Democrats (derived from their belief in Democracy) believe that individuality is the bastion of our identity as a Nation, while our Constitution guides our Republic (root word for Republicans) codifies the God Given Rights for individuals, the central theme remains the sanctity of the Nation itself.
A true Democracy, by its very definition, insists that EVERY governmental decision made MUST be made by a Vote of the People. A Republic, on the other hand, provides people elect individuals to represent them at the Central Government level to make the majority of decisions not expressly denied them by the Constitution.
