Aaron McElhinney I lived in Israel for 2 years in the seventies. Everyone owns a gun. They serve in the military. They also have reserves once they complete their term in the military. That is why they all have guns . Security everywhere. I remember walking with a friend and two guys were following us. A couple in a car stopped to make sure that we were safe. Citizens there are concerned about each other and help each other. They look for suspicious activity and they report it. They don't just sit back until it happens they actively watch out for each other . You didn't go into a movie theater and clubs without searching to be sure no one was armed or carrying a bomb. They believe in prevention and security. The National Guard is guarding the streets. I never felt so safe in my life. You would see a suspicious package and the public would report it and immediately investigate to be sure it wasn't a bomb. Unfortunately American people feel they're giving up their freedom when you talk about this type of security. Our children have the right to live freely and be protected. It is our duty to provide the protection.

Aaron McElhinney we do occasionally need to lock down the odd school, especially in the Toronto area but these are raee and usually due to teenage parking lot brawls, out of control domestic issue in the nneighbiurhood, escaped detainee, someone having mental challenges making threats near thev school but not school entry by assailants because to buy guns is pretty difficultcult here and the police are usually aware straight away. Federal government is spending $36 million this year to combat guns and gangs especially due to 8ncreased gun smuggling from your country.etc. We have had maybe only 4 mass shootings in 30 years nation wide. Too many police officers shot lately which is largely because the police know who is harbouring guns or suddenly creating community havoc, but ambushes on investigation are the main contributor. Gun violence is on the increase here unfortunately and 95% of the guns involved are thanks to illegal smuggled USA guns because we have gun control making it more difficult to acquire fire arms and we have way fewer guns....the essential point. Hope you can get it together, USA. Mostly for the lives of your good folks, but for the spillover to neighbours like us. Cheers.

I don’t disagree with gun control. I strongly support banning all guns if we can. It just won’t happen because there are more guns than people in America and we have the second amendment.

Sensible gun control won’t really help. Assault rifle bans will be symbolic at best. Most guns can kill a dozen people. So we just can’t point our fingers only on guns. Mental health is a huge problem and needs to be addressed before anyone is able to buy or keep a gun.

But most importantly, we need to crack down on social-political organizations that are now turning to violent hate to get their messages noticed. You had politicians promoting violence during the BLM riots in 2020 to get their message across. This energized extremists like Antifa to hijack what was originally a peaceful protest about racial injustice. There’s many of these types of organizations on social media. And my concern is that Nashville Hale fell into one of these organization’s traps - going on a shooting spree on what was a celebrated “trans-visibility-day.” Her goal was political. Her goal was to be seen. And she wanted to be seen by killing 3 innocent children at a place of worship. It’s not only a gun issue. Some of America’s advocacy groups are turning to militant violence and it’s being promoted by our politicians. Hold the terrorists and their sympathizers accountable. Bring them to justice. They need to be in jail, not in elected office.

They're so incredible and they're true heroes. They saved so many lives and instead of going on like business as usual, isn't it high time we honored them and EVERY heroic teacher who has saved lives in some way, above and beyond the call of duty? Should it really be part of a teacher's job description in this country to shield their students with their bodies? Shouldn't we pay them more since they're not just teaching our children and helping them grow into responsible, incredible human beings, but they're sacrificing their lives to save them too in the face of a total failure to act to protect them on a federal, state and local level?

Shouldn't every teacher get active shooter training in this country, without having to seek it out for themselves? And shouldn't they be provided with every resource possible? And what about our classrooms? Shouldn't they be outfitted in such a way that someone with an AR-15 can't easily shoot through doors/windows? You don't want to talk about banning assault rifles, why aren't you at least talking about this morbid reality that is now part of American life because of your love of guns? No, Republican lawmakers would rather act tough and strut around with their AR-15s, than talk about what that weapon is actually capable of and is doing to American people, including children, in practically every mass shooting that happens in this country.

Brock Haggins wild guess the media portrays wealth fame sexy lifestyles
People want that if they can't get it they blame society.
The 99% are taking each other out because they can't be in the Elite.
Maybe Wealth Distribution would be actually moving the right direction Alternative is delete off (can't use the other word because Facebook has gone beyong book burning to word banning) the 99% if they're moving to slow because more demand less supply isn't efficient.
We have one new politician that moved from the National Enquire to the White House Fame Mongering nothing about Luck the con pretty much works. The system is custom made for the con.

Us n Them is real.
We are not Woodstock Nation we're oppulant Empire.

There are so many issues in this country that contribute to these shootings. It's not a one size fits all situation. As a health care professional I can assure you that one of the biggest contributors to this is the absolutely abhorrent health care system. We are allowing the insurance companies to dictate our care and that's why people can't get in to see physicians easily. Where I live the waiting list to get into see a therapist or psychiatrist is 3 months +, and fir children 6 month+. There's constant turnover so by the time you get established with a provider a new one takes their place and you have to get them up to speed all over again. This is also why when you go to a physician you can only have one ailment looked into. All these 1 ailment appointments bog down the schedule. It's insanity. Every job I've worked at is a disastrous, disorganized mess. If you only knew what went on behind the scenes of your physicians office/hospital.

Nathan Gee well you're the one who called me a non believer because I don't want any more kids to be killed

Sounds culty to me. Sounds very weird. The rest of the world are perfectly fine without guns. It's just you weirdos who try to defend hundreds of children killed per year. For no reason. Doesn't happen anywhere else.

It's perfectly good logic. It's the figures. See that's your problem. You can't see the actual figures and the difference between the USA and elsewhere. That's actual provable logic.

I'm not sure we need to talk about religion. I don't think that's relevent here.

Kim Troxler Black guns are the problem. Kids are getting hold of them. Anyone can lose their marbles at any point. You look up how many deaths a year are from guns in America. Not all are metal health issues. Most are people trying to be bigger than they actually are. The clues are there. If you can’t work out every single bad person, then remove the guns. Surly that’s better than losing one of your loved ones. I would be mortified if I kissed a loved one hood bye in the morning to then her they had been killed in a gun incident.

Aaron McElhinney you don’t understand. As Americans our rights are God given. We were founded by Christians. We broke away from a tyrannical government and because of that we know our people will be armed in order to defend ourselves from any tyrannical government even our own that is starting to be created.

You going to ban cars, tools, knives, or hands and feet? More people die by hands and feet in America compared to guns. Look at the FBI statistics. Take out the suicide by gun numbers and you will be amazed at the numbers. Suicides are going to happen regardless of the method used.

I can tell you don’t believe in Jesus that is why you avoid talking about our savior.
