Since 2018 there have been 157 school shootings with at least one person killed or injured. Of those 157 shootings 111 people have died, and 258 have been injured. While each student deals with the emotional trauma for life.

Meanwhile in DC, and in every state capital across the country, our politicians fight back and forth about what is the cause, and who’s to blame. Republicans overwhelmingly blame mental health; Democrats say its guns. Each side pointing fingers, blaming each other, and yet we the parents are caught in the middle and our children have crosshairs of weapon aimed at their head. Columbine happened in 1999 and since then our politicians have done nothing to protect our kids from getting killed.

I know that I am not alone in this frustration, regardless of what side of the political isle you are on. We all have a common goal and that is to keep our children and educators safe at school. Over decades of debate our politicians have done nothing to fix this problem. Certain weapons are not banned, mental health healthcare is not free or accessible to every person. Therefore, even though they recognize the problem that children are getting murdered they refuse to compromise to find a solution that will prevent school shootings. This has been a debate for 24 years (since Columbine), and nothing has been done. Now, we also must deal with swatting (more than likely coming from another countries). Even other countries see how vulnerable and horrible our response to this is and they are taking advantage of our useless politicians.

The problem is not just guns, it is not just mental health, however it is fully on our politicians from local all the way through to federal that have failed every parent, have failed every child. Our politicians no longer work for us, they work for lobbyist at the highest levels and themselves at the local level.

These are OUR kids not their kids. If they won’t solve the problem, I am asking us as parents to join forces. Currently there are almost 50 million children in K-12 public school systems. If the parents unite on a local level, all the way up through a national level to tell our politicians whether Democrat or Republican to fix this, protect our kids or we are coming after your job we might have a chance at getting change to happen. The politicians can’t stop 50-100+ Million parents uniting and coming for them.

I just want to see how many are interested in pushing back against our government to say we are done with the status quo of pediatric coffins being lowered into the ground. Regardless of the political isle, I think we all can agree that these mass shootings, especially in schools need to end and when we look to our elected officials for answers we get nothing. I am curious as to how many parents locally, throughout the state, and the country would be interested in participating in one way shape or form to a peaceful show of unity, strength, and force against our politicians. I am not sure of the details whether it would involve a protest, a rally, pulling our kids out of school etc.

Please share this and discuss this with parents, teachers, families, and friends. One Nation Under God, It’s about time we show our politicians what One Nation Under God actually looks like.

If interested in something like this please share, message, email etc. Get the word out that us parents are standing up for our children.

Cheryl Rockwood well for starters you can’t aim when shooting with two guns at a time.

The shooter had three guns an AR which they used to shoot open the door (a brick would have done just fine)
A M&P 9mm pistol not seen used
A kel tec sub 2000 which fired the same round as the pistol the shooter was only seen on camera holding this after the breach.

The sub2000 as used by the shooter would pass even the most stringent AWBs as legal.

When hidden behind concealment or cover the person defending the position has a huge tactical advantage. It takes years of training and multiple people to breach a room with a reasonable chance of success with an armed defender. These shooters are not highly trained individuals. That’s how a armed teacher would be successful in defending their students.

Robert Nelson the 2nd amendment doesn’t say anything about semiautomatic weapons. It’s time to stop using that as an excuse and as for a tyrannical government, I believe the gun lovers would be on the side of the tyrannical government. They were with the last administration. In fact they showed up at the capitol to try and destroy our democracy so that’s a no go too. All any tyrant that wants to take over this country has to do is say he won’t take guns away and the gun lovers will be groveling at his feet and saying he was sent from god. We have armed forces now, you know, the part in the 2nd amendment that says well regulated militia? Well we have that now so we don’t need civilians arming themselves to protect our country from other countries invading. It’s not 1776 anymore. Your guns won’t save you if another country wants to invade us.

Ron Batten your easiest solution doesn’t appear to be easy given the constitutionality of such actions and the amount of push back people and state level governments are receiving.

Yes I would like teachers who would like the opportunity to carry, to have the ability to carry. Every school shooter is stopped by a firearm. And though Nashville PD did an amazing job, it was still 14 mins to arrive on the scene, clear, and engage the shooter. Best case scenario, the teacher drops the shooter, the worst case would be the shooter is distracted by the armed teacher which allows for potentials victims to evacuate and law enforcement to arrive.

Democrats had two years of controlling both houses and the executive, it doesn’t appear that they care enough to solve the problem.

Why should anyone sit by and slow one of their civil rights to be taken away because the illegal actions of a few. And to claim that they don’t love their children is disingenuous.

Angela Rice Farden no thatbwas written to give the people the right and means to form a militia if there ever was a need for one again. Remember they just got done fighting a tyrannical government from over seas when they wrote it.
The 2nd amendment was written in 1791 after the revolutionary War and after they had already formed a military in the US.
They knew that there might be a day when the people would have to rise up and fight back against our government or another government.
Also the army was first formed in 1775 16 years before the 2nd amendment was written.

Vicki Pelton Koenen i’m atheist, so I don’t pray, I teach my children how to de-escalate situations, I teach them to avoid dangerous situations, I teach them self-defense, and I hope that if violence ever finds them that they are prepared.

I carry a gun to keep them, safe, I have a small caliber rifle at home to protect them in my house. A small caliber rifle, such as one chambered in 556 is a deal for home defense because it has less risk of over penetration and is less likely to pass through a threat, than a less powerful handgun, or a more powerful, larger caliber hunting rifle.

556 does not cause limbs to explode as is described by the media, it would require a larger caliber rifle, or a shotgun

Nearly all self-defense situations will happen at very close distances, a gun or a knife does not make it any less personal

Krystal Hall first let's get this out of the way..."love owning assault rifles...." is emotional crap. The reality is I didn't shoot anyone, my guns didn't shoot anyone, roughly 25 million "assault weapons" in private hands didn't shoot shoot anyone. So what rational reason is there to give them up?

As far as specific weapons "killing", also crap. You should also spend some time with ballistics.

And the whole "REAL PROBLEM" thing? Who is it that's distracting? You've got one in approximately 25 million and you want people to believe that the other 24,999,999 are the problem? There's no logic in your rant. Only emotional garbage.

Michael Stoner I am a retired EMT. I have seen many gunshot wounds. I have seen what happens to the human body (especially children), when hit by a bullet. Linda is not wrong. Faces that are unrecognizable by a bullet from a plain hunting rifle. So please spare me the rhetoric about it. A gun is a go to weapon. You can kill faster and get more victims. There is no personal contact that would happen with, let's say, a knife. So keep on making excuses. I pray none of your loved ones aren't victims one day. It's a horrific experience.

Angela Rice Farden no law-abiding citizen does mass shootings. Also that's all semiautomatic guns can kill dozens of people quickly. That's why we need to invest in armed guards and give teachers the option to take classes to carry in school.
Those guns are protected under the 2nd amendment for a reason. Firstly the Supreme Court has already ruled that all commonly owned firearms are protected by the 2nd amendment and the ar-15 is the most commonly owned rifle.
Secondly we need those to protect ourselves from enemies both from criminals and a possible tyrannical government. If it's our government or another government that's our best bet to defend ourselves.

10ºJenna Terranova-Frisby It appears most are ignorant of the damage an assault weapon will do, and it is talked about recently widely. The bullet enters at 1/4", exits at 4" wide, hunters can not use this for hunting as the meat is destroyed. This is the reason why the hundreds of police during the Uvalde TX shooting refused to enter the school as they knew they were out gunned over an AR15. Those children killed in Uvalde TX, for the most part could not be identified immediately, heads blown off, bodies torn apart. Recent Veterans with experience with the assault weapon are speaking out, claiming these guns do not belong in homes.
