Vice President Kamala Harris' decision to travel to Nashville to advocate for gun control is a bold and necessary move that deserves support. Gun violence has become an epidemic in the United States, with tragic mass shootings and killings occurring far too often. It is time for lawmakers to take concrete steps to address this problem, and Vice President Harris' visit to Nashville clearly demonstrated her commitment to promoting sensible gun control measures. Meeting with state lawmakers who were expelled from the state House of Representatives for protesting support for gun control was a particularly noteworthy aspect of Vice President Harris' trip. By standing in solidarity with those who have been punished for advocating gun control measures, she made clear that she stands with the American people who are demanding action on this issue. I hope Vice President Harris' visit will help spark a meaningful conversation about how we can work together to prevent gun violence and make our communities safer for everyone.

Mike Tibbetts that quote is significant only because back then the colonies did not have a united army. They had guns to guarantee freedom from England. They were not intended for personal protection. It does not apply to today. When our children and innocent people are being killed living their life it is time to take action to protect their constitutional right to not live in fear. We have decided to not support our mentally ill and that has lead to guns being obtained by the unstable. The Sandy Hook kids would be voting soon. That whole generation will change gun laws and you will see your guns taken away within 20 years. All the old white Hoosier gun fanatics will be dead. I hope Inlive to see guns being banned.

Jean Israelson nah. It's always meant that. But you know what's really adorable? That quote came from a Pulitzer winner and political science and law professor at Stanford. You'd probably have known that if you had clicked on the link. Or were we supposed take someone seriously whose only qualifications are they can copy/paste a definition they found on line.

Here's another fun one...examples of the term "well regulated" during the period from the Oxford Dictionary:

1709: "If a liberal Education has formed in us well-regulated Appetites and worthy Inclinations."

1714: "The practice of all well-regulated courts of justice in the world."

1812: "The equation of time ... is the adjustment of the difference of time as shown by a well-regulated clock and a true sun dial."

1848: "A remissness for which I am sure every well-regulated person will blame the Mayor."

1862: "It appeared to her well-regulated mind, like a clandestine proceeding."

1894: "The newspaper, a never wanting adjunct to every well-regulated American embryo city."

I may have missed it but I don't recall a law regarding appetites, clocks, or minds.

Just curious, have you been testing those edible gummies I see being advertised on youtube?

In terms of the lawmakers - the proper procedure in EVERY house in EVERY state is to suspend and censure people for x-amount of time if they break conduct rules. It's been that way for decades and longer, per state. The issue isn't that they were disciplined it's that this House completely IGNORED protocols they've followed with their own people, and simply dismissed these guys outright. Does that look suspicious? Yes.

And in terms of the gun issues in general - I'm beginning to think some people are enjoying the shootings of school kids? I can't imagine anyone not wanting to clamp down on background checks and red flag laws and *some* restrictions in order to save children's and other's lives, unless they're actually sick-minded and enjoy the violence.

John W Harvey only three types of guns have ever been made in the history of the world only three the first is single shot, which you have to reload after firing it, like the musket, the next is a semi auto which fires a round every time the trigger is pressed, the last is a fully automatic which is when you pull the trigger and keep it press it will continue to fire until you empty the magazine, The most popular gun today is the semi auto, used for hunting, sports, self defense, the AR is only a semi auto, nothing more ban it and the average hunting rifle will do the exact same thing, and if you look at the 2ns it doesn't say the right to keep and bear muskets but the right to bear arms,, see the founders new the guns would evolve as they have,

Anne Peterson Grasmick ah, the racism narrative… yes, every time someone breaks ethics policies, or a crime is committed, liberals automatically play the racist card. As I said, this federal administration has been attacking any Republican, both verbally as this piece of garbage just did, and persecuting them by using their “law” enforcement to go after fathers who just want to protect their daughters. Then there is the typical college liberal who feels it’s their right to attack people like Riley Gains, just because she speaks up on this very issue. Now back to Tennessee, the Democrats use a vicious crime committed by a “trans” woman against Christians, and turns it into some Republican attack against LGBT. Talk about twisted. You wonder why Republicans are so fed up with you.

(When Trump won an award for his efforts from a bipartisan black group, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) vowed to boycott it.) Trump also pardoned the late heavyweight boxing champion Jack Johnson, who had been convicted for violating a racist law. Lowest black poverty and unemployment rates ever. Trump achieved the lowest black poverty and unemployment rates ever recorded. He did it with targeted policies like Opportunity Zones, and also broader policies such as focusing on rapid economic growth. He also helped black Americans by enforcing immigration laws, which cut unfair competition for entry-level jobs. Other minority groups saw similar benefits. He named the first black chief of a military service branch, appointing Gen. Charles Q. Brown to lead the Air Force. And he also nominated Lorna M. Mahlock as the first black female brigadier general in the Marines. Trump took pride in these achievements, yet the left called him racist..

This is the the way Biden responded .
Every day last week, after three children and three adults were murdered by a transgender shooter at a Christian school in Nashville on Monday, Joe Biden waxed lyrical about the “joy, strength, and absolute courage [of] transgender and nonbinary Americans.”

Hard though it is to believe at a moment when discretion and sensitivity were needed, the president issued statements from the White House claiming “Transgender Americans shape our Nation’s soul.”

On Friday, four days after the massacre at the Covenant Christian school, Biden issued a proclamation declaring March 31 as “Transgender Day of Visibility” and railed against “MAGA extremists [who] are advancing hundreds of hateful and extreme state laws that target transgender kids and their families … These attacks are un-American and must end.”

Vice President Kamala Harris is reportedly traveling to Nashville, Tennessee this week to advocate for stronger gun control measures. She also plans to meet with a pair of state lawmakers who were fired from Congress after protesting in support of gun control at the state Capitol.

The couple are Tennessee congressmen Justin Moran and Elizabeth Butler. They introduced a bill in 2019 aimed at strengthening background checks and banning military-style weapons sales, which ultimately failed to pass. They were later fired from Congress for participating in a protest calling for immediate action to limit gun violence.

Kamala Harris is visiting Tennessee to push for stricter gun control measures and speak with local community and political leaders. "We must act to end this unending violence. We need stricter background checks, bans on military-style weapons sales, limits on ammunition capacity, and more," she said.

Tennessee is one of the states with the highest gun ownership in the United States, and it is also an area with frequent gun violence. The purpose of Kamala Harris' visit is to call on local political leaders to take more aggressive action to protect public safety.

10ºBarry Brooks Just to be clear…

An admitted child molester was on the TN Legislature for years… and not expelled.

A TN legislator has peed on the chair of another legislator… and not expelled.

A current TN Legislator has been found guilty of domestic violence.. and not expelled.

A former Speaker of the TN Legislature who is now under federal investigation… and not expelled.

But Rep. Justin Jones stood with his constituents to protect children after a mass shooting and only used a bullhorn after his mic and the mics of others were turned off, is now expelled by the TN GOP supermajority.

Unreal. UnAmerican.
