But no, I was simply stating that AI is going to be able to do equally well if not better than their human counterparts in all areas of art and entertainment. And those who have access to those AI won't have to pay millions to actors, artists, voice actors, etc. etc. Like it or not, we're on the verge of technology replacing the need for human labor on all fronts. If our economies do not adapt, we're going to be left with a world full of starving and homeless people. UBI would be the only solution if we want to continue living in a relatively stable world.

The rules where made by the organizers and they agreed that the use of AI was in accordance to their guidelines and they went as far as to name him the winner. They only changed their minds when the photographer rejected the prize and proved his point. Then they decided to come up with the stupidest excuse and tried to “punish” him to try and save face, but it was all on them. 15 minutes in Google should had giving them enough knowledge to understand what it means to use AI to create a picture. If they can’t figure this out, that’s on them.

5ºCarol, AI is still a tool that requires expertise to use and a vision if want it to create something. You need to tell AI excactly what you want it to do, guide it and fine tune the image towards your vision. You can’t just tell AI to create art that will win you an award.
The same arguments have been used and still are used to dismiss photography as an art. Concentrating on the tools and the process instead of the creative vision and the result. People still sneer at computer aided image manipulation even though images have always been manipulated in various ways to create art.
They are just tools.
6ºPeople need to chill about AI. AI doesn’t just create an award winning picture with a push of a button. You still need an artist with a vision and an expert of imagery to guide the AI to the direction you want. Just like any other artist tool, AI is just a device for the artist to realize their vision.
Some people even still argue that photography is not art because they see art as a process through tools used. Unless you create the image with a pen or a brush, it’s not art.
It’s all about the vision and how to realize it.
