High speed trains are racing across the world. But not in America | CNN

China has built around 26,000 miles of dedicated high-speed railways since 2008 and plans to top 43,000 miles by 2035. Meanwhile, the United States has just 375 route-miles of track cleared for operation at more than 100 mph.

Jim Lahman actually if you will look at history the American people themselves decided to leave the train behind. Vehicles became more efficient and cheaper and you were not dependent of the railway time tables. Distance is also a factor as many countries such as Japan and England are alot smaller and their for easier to make the Infrastructure possible. Our power grid would also have to be upgraded. So many factors other than greed at play here. Why not get the government to downgrade its wasteful expenditures and put that money to better use? If the private sector has to do it, you can bet it will be expensive for the consumer.

This comparison shows the gap between China and the US in terms of high-speed rail construction. The construction of high-speed railways in China has already brought about great changes and brought many benefits to economic and social development, such as speeding up inter-city connections and promoting economic development. However, there has been a lack of clear strategic planning and policy support for the development of high-speed rail in the US, which may be one reason for the relative lag in this area. It is important to note that the construction of high-speed rail requires significant financial and technical support, and requires full consideration of environmental, social and economic sustainability. Therefore, various factors need to be carefully weighed in the formulation and implementation of high-speed rail policies.

Emilia Alice well that only happens because the commie Chinese kill anybody who objects ignore and totally obliterate any and all environmental regulations or rules take whatever land they need to do it kill anybody in the way or just push them out relocate them had a relatively poor country until 20-30 years ago when we allow them into the World Trade Organization and allowed them to steal technology like crazy steal our jobs like crazy abuse their people trade unfairly and so most people there are just weren't allowed to have cars or didn't have cars and they forced them to ride trains or buses
