Celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Rihanna had expressed support, signing a petition asking the state to halt his eventual execution.

I hope every person who is innocent can prove it by DNA!!! I trust the science of DNA.
If you trust the science of DNA and believe in it as I do, then you would also trust the DNA is an absolute on a persons gender, it is always your birth gender! So what you 'think' you want to be is not science!
DNA also would show that some so-called blacks are really not considered black anymore, due to mixing of races. If you are only 20% black and 80% white, you're white. etc. if you are 50/50 then you get to choose. Meghan Markle would be one of those people. And her children are also white too. If that disappoints her or other so-called black people, I guess being black gives you more privilege than being white huh?

Lotta Mundwiler, most that don't have the "death penalty" actually do have a death penalty, but it's implemented differently. It's either a true "die a natural death" death penalty or they are just "disappeared". One thing we have to be careful of is comparing "1st world countries with 3rd world countries" as that is usually a pretty condescending viewpoint towards other countries that is rarely accurate or true.

In other seemingly unrelated news, most countries that have a zero tolerance towards what would be minor crimes or even non crimes here (possession) that actually acts as a preventative towards higher crimes.

Jennett Hewlett well, the guy Carter who actually did the killing confessed almost immediately.

Plus his DNA was a match to the DNA pulled out from under the victim's fingernails.

So Grant was definitely innocent of that crime.

I wonder if sitting in jail for seven years for a crime he didn't commit is enough to break a man and drive him a bit bonkers. I am sure his experience gave him a very different perspective of life.

Doesn't really matter. This time he will be in jail for a long time. No one will ever know if he was violent to begin with or that tossing him in jail created a violent man.

Situations like these tend to happen to black convicts most of the time and are very inconsistent to allow due process unlike their white counterpart convicts.
The system in the State of Texas is racially biased and is designed to erase black convicts wether innocent or guilty with the intention of harboring and enforcing fear of power toward the black community in Texas. But what can you expect from a historically racist hotspot state from the south? Texas' historical track record against minorities wasn't all green grass and clear skies. The micro-agressive undertones are apparently still complicitly active and hidden over there in both government and society.
Cheated, abused and misused laws to keep black Americans down and under. ️

They didn't really have a choice because America has an enormous appetite for human rights abuses against its own citizens a country that has over 2 million of its citizens Behind Bars to serve Private Industry cuz it certainly doesn't keep us safe or more safe to have that many people incarcerated and when you incarcerate 2 million people you are going to get innocent people caught up in a system that is still dealing with attitudes about racism bigotry prejudice and discrimination because America is still a country that doesn't appreciate how to treat all of its citizens as equals have a nice day

Being born & raised here in Texas I know personally how things can be here in the south. Especially in East Texas. Case definitely appears to have racial undertones to it. Also crazy if what he says is true & that he & she were having an affair & that her husband who was also a member of law enforcement found out then a lot of this adds up. Husband was also convicted of sexual assault as well. If this can prove he is in fact innocent I hope that it does. Definitely interested to see how this plays out.
