BlackRock owns controlling interest in Vanguard and Vice versa and one person, Lawrence “Larry” Fink owns controlling interest in both. Recall elections are gaining popularity, but there's no provision in Florida law that would allow voters to recall a governor. Or a lieutenant governor, or members of the Florida Cabinet, or members of the Florida Legislature.
A bill was filed in the last legislative session to make those offices subject to voter recall, but it died in the Government Operations Subcommittee. It was introduced by Florida Rep. Rick Kriseman, a Democrat from St. Petersburg.
So the only two options for removing a Florida governor are: Legislative impeachment. In this option, the Florida House would have to approve impeachment of a governor by a two-thirds vote (there are 120 members in the House, so 80 would have to vote for impeachment). Then a trial would be held in the Florida Senate and again, two-thirds of the senators present would have to vote to remove the governor (there are 40 senators, so 27 "yes" votes would be needed to remove a governor).
- Voting the governor out of office in the next general election seems to be the only option and gives tenure to the Governor if the majority of Legislators are Republicans. In Florida, gubernatorial elections are every four years, with the next one in November 2026
