1ºRandy Rice the difference between Maine and Kentucky is Kentucky is surrounded by states that are just as lackey as they are. They have considered that Maine is surrounded by other states that support stronger gun legislation. Of course that's not the only reason. Of course, there are other factors affecting gun violence in the southern states. Population, Drugs, the under educated, economics. I have spent a lot of time in Maine. Maine is a different animal for sure. Beautiful state by the way. Great people. Not so much in the south. The movie Deliverance comes to mind .
2ºBrian Verhoeven I grew up in Baltimore City . Sure there was kids doing stuff , but never killing each other like today . Single parent homes are a huge part of this IMO . And I grew up in one . Parents want to be friends more than parents . I also believe this social media which we didn’t have is the largest cause of society problems . Everyone wants those likes and thumbs up on twitter / FB / tic tok / and the rest of them . I just pray for my kids and grandkids that something changes soon .

The close minded, racist, white conservative is dying out. The entire world has changed and you’re a square peg in a round hole. Texas may be a big state, but it’s nothing compared to a world FULL of liberalism. So when you talk badly about “immigrants”, the LGTBQ community, Liberals, you’re talking about a world that outnumbers you beyond you wildest dreams. 4ºLuis Victoria Idk you said it was easy to buy like anyone could get one and that was the problem. What you are saying is these law abiding citizens easily got their firearms and thats why they used them. I bought mine legally and hope to never have to use them against another human life but will not hesitate to do so if a threat on my life or yours arises. No my firearms were not obtained easily among any body elses that were bought legally. Mandating firearm sales only hinders the lawful citizens. If these people couldnt get it legallyto perform their act of violence I promise they would have found an illegal way to find one. They dont follow the law anyways right. More gun laws only and restrictions only stops the lawful not the unlawful.
5ºLuis Victoria Im replying to your comment that they are easy to purchase. And the documentation I have to fill out to purchase one is A federal law so it doesnt matter what state I live in. You are trying to insinuate to anyone that will listen to you that if I want to legally obtain a firearm I just have to walk in and easily pick out and walk out. Its def not what you are insinuating and def not an easy process that doesn't require back ground checks through ATF and Federal Offices. One red flag. One. Even if it was a domestic assault 50 years ago , dvp order hell even behind on child support will deny you a firearm. Go buy one legally and tell me how effing easy it is. In order to legally own a I firearm myself and every lawfull gun owner has to live their life stain free in order to legally keep that right. Go buy one. Come back and tell me, its simple and easy .
6ºCindy Tripp Americans are a violent people. We have no cohesive national identity and divide ourselves into groups that identify as victims and absolve ourselves of personal responsibility. I shoot someone, it’s not my fault it’s the fault of society which has made me the victim of some “-ism”. Moreover, it is not the family environment which I was brought up in that contributed to my selfish violent behavior and therefore they should suffer no shame for my abhorrent behavior. Rather, they should profit through a lawsuit whereby blame is placed on this claimed ”victimizer” and again pushed away from me and my behavior.

There will ALWAYS be a demand by criminals for guns. Therefore there will always be guns.
It takes 3 to 4 guys in sandals & underwear in a bamboo hut in the Philippines 2 to 3 days to produce fully functioning Colt 1911 pistol.
Everyone says "hold gun owners accountable" totally ignoring that legal gun owners typically ARE held accountable. Sadly it's the criminals who typically aren't held accountable. That's because Prosecuting Attorneys and DA's aren't held accountable for their lack of enforcing current guns laws the way they were intended.
