Bill Osborne I said if they can help and keeping to the subject of evacuating American citizens out of a foreign country, it is like Afghanistan. It's like when Americans got stuck in South America when countries closed their airports due to Covid. The State Department were able to bring them home but it took quite a while. You need to remember that the majority of Americans living in Sudan are Sudanese. Sudan is bigger than Alaska. What do you want us to do? This isn't a Biden thing, or in the case of Covid, a Trump thing. If you didn't read the link Angela posted, I'll give it to you again. https://travel.state.gov/...q9URktB9QoV34YI

Jacob Thomas Bell I'm not defending Biden. I'm bringing you to reality. Let's start again, if you're in a foreign country and you need help, contact the embassy. If they can't help you, you're on your own. In this case, they really really can't help you. The embassy had to be evacuated. The State Department might be able to sneak military into a evacuation area but no one can depend on that. You said it yourself in your own edited comment. You blame Biden. What do you want him to do? Exactly. Have helicopters fly all over Sudan looking for Americans to see if they want to leave the country? I would have laughed my *ss off if a Trump hater blamed him and suggested such a thing.

Olivia Navratilova we who do this type of work understand that we go into these parts of the world and there is the risk that we may not come back. We’re targets personally and our workplaces are targets for terrorists with a beef against the U.S. We go into war zones like these colleagues of mine are. We are called on to sacrifice our health, well being, and even our lives by both violent means like the military and others that the military doesn’t face. One of my friends, for example, lost a son because of healthcare in India. I myself am retired from the State Department because of injuries I sustained serving overseas.

So we know the risks and we go in even when it’s dangerous. People try to blow us up and we don’t have guns to shoot back. So it’s very important to know the government will come for us. I cannot tell how relieved I was to see CNN break in and report my colleagues were out of there and safe. It’s like a soldier hearing that other soldiers are safe and sound.

Bill Osborne I’m one of the people who worked in overseas embassies like this. And the people who’ve now been evacuated were my colleagues. I cannot tell you how relieved I am or how important it is to know the U.S. government will come for you if something like this happens. After all, getting blown up is a hazard we face as much as the military, but without being armed. And then we face other hazards too.

I’d like to see us do more to get U.S. citizens out of situations. But I can just imagine the right wingers freaking out if we required overseas citizens to register. And without some kind of registration process, we don’t even know who to go look for.

Yeah but he left every other American there. Straight up said they are on there own.

The airports and transportation was almost immediately destroyed when the fighting broke out a week ago. These are doctors and air workers and others. End all is these are Americans who are being hung out to dry. You give them a time date and location to evacuate you them. After that then sure they can be on their own. But leaving them to possibly die, unreal. And you people won’t look past the mental gymnastics you use to Protect Biden to see the truth. If they are willing to leave Americans on their when they can easily help them, y’all don’t think he wouldn’t when there’s a real risk? lol
