Mike Johnson Oh yeah right, hahaha he changed his life so all is forgiven for his and many other Democrats and their lynchings of innocent black men. Hahahaha You keep telling yourself that. Funny though, that was Bidens mentor. Biden has many racists quotes as well. Most notably during his first year as president. "Black's and Hispanics aren't as smart as white people" "Black's and Hispanics can't afford to buy a home or own a phone" and "I don't want my children to go into a racial jungle".

How about we talk about the first Black Democrat senator which also happens to be the first women to be elected to the Senate. That would be Carol Mosely Braun in 1994.

Or how about the most racist President to ever sit in the oval office. Lyndon B Johnson. Come on, you're spitting a bogus narrative. Democrats where the party of slavery and are the party of slavery.

Utterly pointless since the Union didn't fight the war to free slaves. Why fight a war to free slaves then subjugate and segregate them and treat them like dirt for another hundred years, unless it was about a commodity and economics with "freeing the slaves" as an excuse to keep others out of it.
The States use the Civil War as an excuse to scrub history, but all it does is conveniently cover the fact that it simply wasn't a war for the freedom of slaves and that the policy of the United States towards black people in its laws for another hundred years was as vile as it could be towards its own citizens.
All you ""''s with nothing to say, Lincoln went to war to preserve the Union. Had it been about slavery, how is it The Emancipation Proclamation didn't appear until nearly three years into the war? And if it was about freeing slaves, because slavery was bad, right, tell me why the very people who are supposedly fought for are paid lower wages, subjugated and segregated for another 100 years? Explain to me why black soldiers were sent to fight with the French in WW1 and segregated in WW2? How is it that German and Italian Prisoners of War in the United States had more rights than the black American soldiers guarding them?

Andrea Dunn What does WHITE history have to do with changing the name of a military base? How many military bases have you been stationed on? Did you think about WHITE HISTORY when you were there? Are you that ignorant to think that people really care? No because I bet you were never on one. If you were you would know what I'm talking about. Unless you are THAT insecure of your race they you just can't be on a base named after a Confederate General. I know white history sweetie. And the military is NOT the place for your race card. Get over yourself BTW.. please check my writing

Luis Armando Hernandez Right...pay no attention to the fact that Black people vote overwhelmingly for Democrats and run for office as Democrats.

Pay no attention to the fact that both Trump and DeSantis are obvious racists. Trump even encouraged white people in Minnesota to look into eugenics theory. https://thehill.com/opini...acial-eugenics/

Pay no attention to the fact that the Black community hasn't voted for a Republican presidential candidate after WWII, though Republican candidates had good support, just not majority support.

That modest support ended when the 1964 Republican presidential candidate, the John Bircher friendly Barry Goldwater, ran on an anti-Civil Rights Act platform.

Of course, the Reagan administration was a slow-motion disaster for minority communities.

Marty Thompson seems quite odd when the progressives think the constitution is out of date and think all those pesky rights are overblown. I'll just bring up the 2nd amendment and say their final goal is removal of civilian gun ownership. Why would any government want to take away the rights of it's citizens to protect themselves? Let's look up where that happens in history.
So do you mean the 1800's where Republicans ended slavery. Sure Lincoln was actually a Whig, but he's still the first big "R" Republican. Fighting with all those dixiecrats democrat segregationists. The funny thing is biden talking about working with those segregationists in congress, but he fails to bring up they were other democrats.
For the vast majority of this country's history, the right to an abortion was thought to be horrendous. So what rights are Republicans trying to take away?

Jennifer Fountain you have no issue then with statues of traitors or naming bases after traitors going up in the first place. Because your viewpoint on treachery has changed? Yet William Bruce Mumford was executed for treason in 1862 for pulling down the US flag in New Orleans after the Union captured the city.
100 years ago you wouldn't have have an issue with statues or you didn't have an issue with traitors? Were traitors honored back then, were they? And you bring up civil rights? Well that's a bit hypocritical. So, you're happy that the traitors statues and forts are being dealt with now, how about the Union officers, since the war wasn't fought for the freedom of slaves? Slaves were just an economic commodity. The Emancipation Proclamation didn't happen until almost three years into the war and that was to keep the British out of the war, and after the war ended, those freed slaves were segregated and subjugated for a further 100 years. Has Jacob H Smith been dug up? What about General Pershing? There are two statues to him which seems to be deemed worthwhile since, to my knowledge, neither have been toppled. Then there's General Sherman, a slave owner. Will Fort Sherman be changing it's name, will his statue in New York be toppled? Or will you be happy to look the other way and abide not by history, but by what the media tells you?
