Susan D. Brown I just guess I don’t see her “playing the victim”. She was explaining the circumstances.
It seems she’s trying to take responsibility. Yes, irresponsible gun owners are liable for whatever their guns do. Imo, I see it as a twofold problem:

-Anyone & everyone being able to have such easy access to guns is a problem.

-If this child was so hard to manage, there should be access to special needs education but it’s not really available anymore; also medication can really help.. something to that effect.

Most public school teachers aren’t trained to deal with, and shouldn’t have to deal w severe issues like that.

The kid used the gun to get attention. Basically when the objects the kid used at home to get attention wore off, his mind associated as never using the gun before to get attention which he knew would get attention.

Getting attention is chemical stimilus of the brain, much like taking drugs that the body eventually gets used to that causes new and more drugs to be used, objects have the same chemical effect for both the child and the adult. The adult gets used to the same object and ignores the child, then child then does something different, sticks a fork in an electrical outlet to get attention.

Fred Valls What does "missing a meal" have to do w anything? How is she putting "all the responsibility" on teachers? She stated usually her or the father is in class w him...? And in all honesty, public teachers who don't get paid crap & aren't trained to deal w kids like this shouldn't HAVE to deal w a child who have more severe issues. There should be enough public school funding for this kid & others to access education where they're under the supervision of teachers trained to deal w it. Private schools don't have to accept kids w issues but public schools have no choice.
