So how do you legislate this exactly? You make it illegal for people to "call out" celebrities and others for offensive behaviors. So what have you just done? You have prevented someone else's opinion. You have affected Freedom of Speech. People need to still be allowed to have an unfavorable response to someone's words and behaviors. There should be consequences to our words and actions from other people. Having the government protect one person's speech, but not another's response to that speech goes against the 1st Amendment. The government should only protect speech. I don't think most people understand what the 1st Amendment is all about.
2ºKenny Anderson yep, FB, twitter & others have done that very thing. They pulled down true stories, or it made to where they couldn’t be shared. They cancelled people they didn’t agree with & worked with the government to do so. They have to remember cancel culture, can be a 2 way street. Anyone, can be this situation & that includes the people who engage in practicing it. They may find it funny now, but when they start getting sued for defamation or cancelled themselves, it won’t be so funny. CNN tried to cancel people & it’s cost them hundreds of millions of dollars. Society changes & In 20 years from now, some of these people can have this happen to them. They could be the ones everyone is trying to cancel. I bet they won’t find it funny, especially if it affects their ability to earn a living. This is a dangerous practice if you don’t have all the facts. People anymore instantly just on things instead of waiting to hear all evidence.
3ºOther countries got similar laws, they are called anti engagement laws. You say someone is bad, and you try to be around them, its a contradiction. You negatively defined someone, and it is criminal on your part to be around them. Here is where you liberals get it wrong, retorting someone else’s message isn’t hate speech. Trying to silence someone by using the corrupt notions of hate speech is being criminalized in Asia. The Great State of Texas will have our own law pretty soon. If you negatively engage someone, any response being called hate speech will be deemed criminal. I don’t want to be around bad people, and that is why I don’t engage them. 4ºso so true. Only I refuse to call them "religious". These churches, to me are more like cults. Any organization that tells you how to dress, who to love, how much of your paycheck should go to the organization, who you can talk to, what you can read or that you have to shun other people is NOT a church. It is a cult . They are more concerned about controlling the masses and bending others to conform to their own thoughts and ideas than embracing people as they are like Jesus Christ would. 5ºAmericas only cancel culture that is against the law is really the threat to ones job and such as to voting where as you are not allowed to threaten, harrass, intimidate, assualt any voter.. That would be the same as not allowing a person to vote. It is also a crime.. It does not matter who you wish to vote for, no employer or person has any right to threaten your job and more. the 2016 election and forward we seen a lot of cancel culture threatning supports , their jobs, their buisnesses, and more.. then we seen the asults threats and more on voters.. All these things are illegal. That is why our votes are really secret, yes hubby I am voting for ???? but at the vote booth she or he really does not know who the other voted for.. Thiss becomes a problem in counting the votes also and where mistrust really is, this is why we need paper ballots and those by law can be recounted even by hand for as you all see not allowed to question a machine and how it works, if it counts properly and such whereas we should be allowed to get a reciept and our vote recorded online whereas we can double check our vote and it was correct as we voted.. Really just a reciept serialized number and code, no names and such.. I would also could say that cancle culture on the job should also be illegal,, Cancel culure is in one way hard to define as many other ways.. But we see a lot of it these days,, But there are ways to beat cancel culture, suing for harrassment and the like.. The media is a big influnce of cancel culture when they publish things that are of such acts in pushing as we call propaganda,, oh well.
