Its horrible not being able to help them because you so want to. After dad died, mom didn't want help from in home services ... she was 87 ..... my brother was furiou s at her and especially me who lived 2 hours away versus 12 hours by car for him. He'd visit twice a year and once took her to a nursing home in a different state and didn't tell her nor me. She called me crying her eyes and I told him to back off in not so polite of a manner. He caused more emotional trauma than necessary. My husband and I took turns going back and forth on weekends due to working and called daily. My childhood home was a 3 story farm house and finally after falling, she lived with us.

Jeremy Romero Please elaborate: the claim that President Joe Biden has given “zero dollars” to help shelter homeless veterans is false.

Biden’s American Rescue Plan, provided funding for health services, training and housing for veterans.

It includes “$14.5 billion for COVID-19 related health care, access for 9.2 million enrolled Veterans who may have delayed care or have more complex health care needs as a result of the pandemic. Veterans currently receive housing support and an estimated 37,000 homeless Veterans.

The plan sets aside “$750 million for both construction grants ($500 million) and payments ($250 million) to State Homes to greatly improve the living conditions of our most vulnerable Veterans who reside in these facilities.”

State Veterans Homes are owned and operated by state governments and provide nursing home, domiciliary or adult day care for veterans, spouses and Gold Star parents.

There are 149 nursing homes; 53 domiciliary facilities that provide a home, food, clothing and medical services; and three facilities that offer day care programs, including medical and rehabilitation services.

The $750 million allocated in the American Rescue Plan is in addition to funds that the federal government provides annually for homeless veterans through appropriations bill.

Not to mention the thousands of veterans home loans.
