Gaia Kush missing the point. Unlike other countries the US can not commit anyone involuntarily to a mental institution or drug rehab. Why? it is considered a violation of their civil rights. You can thank the ACLU and other “progressive” organizations for forcing the changing of the laws in the 90s. Now the same groups have in our major cities destroyed law enforcement , and therefore violent criminals, the violent mentally ill criminals walk the streets freely and in NYC use the subway system as their hunting grounds. As usual, the left neglects to acknowledge the law of unintended consequences.
Until a few political hacks or their own family members are assaulted or worse or better yet, the silent majority in this country destroy the communists at the ballot box in the democrat party it’s only going to get worse. Enjoy!

Similarly, the United States has been on the big picture internationally as world police, charged with the duty of protecting democracy.
For US to turn a deaf ear to a crime against democracy currently going on in Nigeria, leaves so much to be desired. Come May 29th May 2023, a grave crime against democracy will be officially legalized in Nigeria, if the international community continues to keep silent, and allow the corrupt government in Nigeria to inaugurate a man who never won Presidential Election as President, then the destiny of the entire people of Nigeria would have been destroyed by that silence.

Good luck with that your neighbor next door British Columbia.

adults (18 years and older) in B.C. are not arrested or charged for possessing small amounts of certain illegal drugs for personal use. The illegal drugs covered by the exemption are:

Opioids (such as heroin, morphine, and fentanyl)
Crack and powder cocaine
Methamphetamine (Meth)
MDMA (Ecstasy)
Adults found in personal possession of any combination of these illegal drugs that adds up to a combined total of 2.5 grams or less are not subject to criminal charges and the drugs are not seized. Instead, they are offered information about health and social supports. This includes support with making a referral to local treatment and recovery services, if requested.
