3ºWhen people started protesting and saying “Defund the Police”. What they wanted was to demilitarize the police. Taking away the armored vehicles that never get used,removing the body armor and soldier aesthetic.
The result given,is less officers on the payroll and on patrol. This was the brilliant misinterpretation given by local politicians in charge of the city and county budgets.
The inability to discourage crimes like this can be laid solely at the feet of local politicians. If they were using city and county income to worry about having larger police and sheriff staffing. Instead of voting to raise their salary and pension. Less frequently would we see this.

This kind of violence against women occurs every hour of every day in this country. It happens regardless of race, or social status. This man according to several sources was her ex boyfriend. Most violence that occurs is committed by men that these victims know. Not strangers. Also from several accounts this guy is an American citizen. Using this story in attempt to push a political agenda is not cool. The issue is the violence against women committed by men. You might want to address that.
