The advisor who convinced Truman
to use NUCLEAR WEAPONS,
James F. Byrnes, wasn’t even in
the government yet but would
later become Sec. of State.
His reasoning was the need to
demonstrate to the Soviet Union
the destructive ability of the new
weapon not on an empty island
but on cities full of people!!!

The reason Hiroshima and
Nagasaki were chosen is
because neither had been
bombed yet since neither
had any military targets!!!
