My husband died a year ago. So what was a two income household became one income. I make a fourth of what he made. I still have to have a house and a car. I have gotten rid of or reduced everything I can. And still cannot get below my means. But I am lucky. I have a great retirement that I can take in a few months while getting another job. And that will make a huge difference. Many widows do not have that benefit.
So take your sanctimonious bs somewhere else. It’s not that simple for a huge number of people.
And before you say it, he had insurance. That’s what I have been living on. But with gas prices going as high as they did, groceries going up all the time, it’s almost gone.
