Judge rules Colorado student cannot wear a sash with Mexican and American flags during graduation

In her ruling, the judge said that a student wearing regalia at graduation sends a message that the school approves, so it “qualifies as school-sponsored speech, at least for the duration of the ceremony.”

It continually astounds me how so many people haven't the slightest clue what exactly freedom of speech encompasses. This is NOT a freedom of speech issue. This is about a dress code. She can be as proud of her heritage as much as she wants but this is neither the time nor place to express her pride. She can put the sash on after the ceremony and pose for pictures with family and friends while wearing it. I just can't understand why people have to try and draw attention to themselves in what is a group ceremony or situation. Nothing at all narcissistic about that!

What the hell is going on with your programming? You had a guy who said the N-word on national TV and Smerconish talking about how it was an “understandable mistake” (it has never been news what a white guy thinks about unabashed and clear racism, sorry!) - now you’re talking about teenagers filling the “labor shortage”? There is no labor shortage, but there is a shortage of adults willing to work for literal pennies, unlike teens. I thought folks might be overreacting saying CNN is turning into Fox News but 100% it’s the truth. It has been a disgusting waste of ten minutes this morning. Figure it out.
