Politics could cast a shadow over Sunshine State tourism | CNN

Florida boasts hundreds of miles of beaches, year-round warm temperatures and is home to the world’s most famous theme park. But political battles that have been heating up in recent months could cast a shadow over the Sunshine State’s tourism appeal.

*FAKE NEWS.
The only heat up in Florida is by left-wing political extemist media propaganders to incite controversy, hate, protests

Phyllis Parks Oh really? I’m gay.. and Latino i was born in Guatemala and the only racist discriminatory situations I’ve experienced have happened in democrat cities and woke crazy maniacs.
I live in an overwhelmingly white Republican are and people is hardworking with values so i don’t know where you get that idea that they’re welcoming and hospitable.. for WHO exactly?
Because i went to LA and homeless chase you on downtown.. but the democrats from Hollywood Hills and Malibu don’t experience that nevertheless the rich democrats from Silicon Valley and SFO.

I don’t see as authoritarian to someone who has COMMON SENSE.. even me as a gay guy know I’m a male and can’t be a woman ever since i was born with a pnis not a vgna. You can’t define what a woman is so yeah I’ll stay with the people with not the maniac lnatics.

Ted Ricci the full impact of all this Christofascist laws and book bans on tourism will not be seen until next year.

But after July 1, certain populations will be harassed to provide “papers”. If you look Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Latin you can (and in some places WILL) need to provide proof that you are legal. People who ride in your car will have to prove they are legal. Hospitals will now have to report patients that are undocumented.

The police that DeSantis has “imported” from other states with sign on bonuses of $10K many of them have serious violations of police regulations and some are adjudicated criminals. We cannot expect these “police officers” to act any better in Florida than they did in their home state.

Already the industries that utilize undocumented workers are suffering. Fields of produce are rotting. Construction sites are empty of day labor. Soon hotels and restaurants will lack maids, janitors, dishwashers, cooks, etc. Meat packing plants will have less workers.

Florida is going to be chaos.

We used to vacation in Florida regularly and loved it very much! But when Rick Scott was elected governor, the general ambiance in the state began to change.
IMO, as a citizen who has studied politics for decades, Florida - and Texas - were places that appeared to welcome political interference from autocrats…and sure enough, Rick Scott became a (medical billing corrupt) Senator and divisive Ron “I can make citizens believe ALMOST anything as easily as demon dumpy trumpy” DeSatan, was their new governor!

I will refuse to spend ANY of my $$$ in Florida OR Texas until they return to DEMOCRACY! It’s incredibly telling and sad that citizens groups (it’s more than just one, you know) are warning OTHER Americans about visiting certain states!!

Gonza Ceron S, hey, you’re really sounding desperate to prove your ridiculous position on this issue! Yes, I do have multiple degrees, and I am an educator! How many times is it necessary for me to repeat myself to you, Gonza?

The majority of Americans feel exactly as I do! (Why do you think repugnant Republicans keep losing elections over and over?!) We all know/are 100% aware that you MAGA trumplicans will never understand what your authoritarian leadership has in store for you, but I guarantee you that your group is going down that path alone. We, the citizens who believe in and fully support democracy, will NEVER end up in that horrible authoritarian state with you! But just remember that we also will never allow your group of MAGA trumplicans to infect our paradise!

BYE, GONZA; live your happiness in your authoritarian state!

Talk about this instead…..

As most states have handed over the reigns of their voter registration and election processing to just a handful of uncertified software vendors - you can assume that the algorithms proven to exist in New York, Wisconsin, and Florida — that generate ghost voters — exist in your state as well.

Why aren’t the Albert Sensors that are deployed by the Center for Internet Security (private NGO working at the direction of the Department of Homeland Security) finding these breaches?

Maybe, it’s because DHS/CIS are the ones responsible for initiating the algorithms in the first place….

Just a thought.

Stephanie Bebermeyer Lee Gator beaches? What on God’s earth are you even talking about?

There are more beaches in the state of Florida than any other state. More attractions on said beaches than any other state.

The majority of vacationing people do not have the means to go to Hawaii. Don’t want to go to California. And want the weather of Florida. Their beaches are packed from Spring break to Labor Day. Your argument is null and void.

DeSantis has not ruined the Disney experience. Don’t be silly. Disney is still there and still doing the same business they have been doing for a long time. Their prices have turned a lot of people away. They are the blame for that. Even the latest CEO admitted to that. Higher prices and less of the Disney magic. It’s a problem.
