Cynthia LeCruise I thi k you overestimate how good AI is. All AI does now is search the internet and compile data. It doesn't know fact from fiction. But even if we did have the capability what's the issue with someone having a firearm. It's their constitutional right to carry one. The only issue in this incident was a young man who thinks rules don't apply to him. This is a characteristic he was raised with. Someone didn't teach him about rules and the consequences for breaking them. Millions of Americans are carrying guns everyday it's only a small percentage who use them in crimes.

Bravo Bus Driver!!

"If violent crime is to be curbed, it is only the intended victim who can do it. The felon does not fear the police, and he fears neither judge nor jury. Therefore what he must be taught to fear is his victim"

"The only acceptable response to the threat of lethal violence is immediate and savage counterattack. If you resist, you just may get killed. If you don't resist you almost certainly will get killed. It is a tough choice, but there is only one right answer."

"The police cannot protect the citizen at this stage of our development, and they cannot even protect themselves in many cases. It is up to the private citizen to protect himself and his family, and this is not only acceptable, but mandatory."

Carmin D'Leto Understand, the operator was just doing his job. Clearly we are not allowed to let anyone off the bus at unauthorized stops. That’s why he didn’t let him off that bus. Reason being, if something was to happen at an unauthorized stop then it falls on the driver and that driver can lose his job. So the safest thing to do was let him off at the next stop. It’s unfortunate that other passengers were aboard that bus but that driver did what he had to do for his own safety. To me he saved the day, because that passenger could have shot everyone on that bus. So At the end of the day, he had to choose between his life or his job, so he did the right thing. Understand, dealing with the public is hard enough and it’s a lot that we deal with so it’s nothing crazy about him. I think you’re the crazy one to even fix your mouth to say what’s safe and what’s not safe when he was protecting his own life. How ever we do have families to go home to as well keep that in mind. Good day

Iya Nye Maybe because carrying a gun on that bus was illegal. Maybe because North Carolina Law says you can't use deadly force if there's another way....which there was. Maybe because he endangered every single person on that bus by firing a weapon in a closed space with lots of people in the area, while driving, so there's no way he could have made sure he had a safe shot before firing, and opened the company up to a potential massive lawsuit. Or maybe for all of these reasons. Whatever happened to responsible gun ownership? I sure as hell wouldn't want to be on a bus with either of these people.

I just saw this on CNN news this morning. I praise the bus driver. Some punk some predator thought he was going to get the upper hand by shooting a bus driver in the back of the head you live by the sword you die by the sword but I want to know why is this bus driver still driving for third party after 19 years for the city of Charlotte? Oh wait a minute it’s probably because of a Republican controlled city that doesn’t wanna pay for retirement health insurance or any other kind of benefits for the workingman and now he’s been terminated for defending himself. Good job, Charlotte.

Jason Kelley so now an officer of the law sanctioned to carry a gun, regardless of what they use it right or not, it’s just on the same level as a random bus driver, who broke a rule to bring a gun on the bus with him. To you those two things are equal. So because the police officer may have killed people for even less, that gives this bus driver, the right to shoot somebody. And I have a gun battle on a bus with innocent people. That’s all OK with you. Have you ever stop to think about something like that?

Who says a driver can't stop between stops? Does the bus itself override the driver if he hits the brakes before his stop? No. All y'all trying to hype up an incident that could have simply been averted by letting him off. Looking at the video, if the driver believed the passenger (who had drawn his gun and walked to the front) was going to fire on him, he had ample time to let him know he was pulling over, stop the bus, and let him out and nobody would have gotten shot. Not to mention when he was retreating the driver was still shooting and could have easily shot another innocent passenger. Then he chased him down to shoot at him so more. Self defense flys out the window once the driver pursued the passenger.

The best defense in this case was common sense, not another weapon.

This is extremely very scary for me. I've been a bus driver for almost 31 years. I think God I have never been officially physically assaulted but I came close twice in my whole career. AND one of those times was during the pandemic three years ago had threatened me claiming he had a gun on him And this was because I passed him up at a bus stop because he was not wearing a mask which was heavily required at that time! He managed to have somebody Follow my bus and he caught up with me And got on the bus and threatened me. I completely froze. Yes I had to be a coward but this was the one time I think god I was Because I'm able to tell this story. My retirement comes at the end of the year and I am praying that I will make it through because the job is not the same anymore and yes it. Has become extremely dangerous at this point

Jay Douglas thugs shoot people for no reason. I live in philly and we have a thug ameen hurst who is charged with 4 murders before his 17th birthday. I have a friend who works for the feds and i was saying how unbelievable it was for a 16 yr old to already have 4 murders. They said " thats nothing, im working on a case in n. Jersey where a 14 yr old has 7 bodies we can charge him with and have enough evidence to prove plus several we haven't got enough evidence to charge him yet but are pretty sure he did " thugs kill ,they dont need a reason.

10ºDeron Smith Its probably 1% of deaths compared the amount of people that die by black hands. The buffalo tops shooting happened. They had a candlelight vigil and started killing each other again the next day. There's been 10 times as many black deaths since then and nobody cares since the shooter wasn't white. You can get mad, you can call it racist, but it's truth. I don't condone crazy white people killing anyone either. A life is a life no matter who its taken by. Im proving a point. You won't see no streets being shut down or any moments of silence for the two shot last night because they weren't shot by white people. People are murdered daily in Buffalo it wasn't just at tops.
