YouTube will now allow 2020 election denialism content, in policy reversal | CNN Business

YouTube said in a blog post that it will stop removing “content that advances false claims that widespread fraud, errors, or glitches occurred in the 2020 and other past US Presidential elections.”

I'm shocked and appalled by this decision! Misinformation about the election has been at the heart of the attack on democracy in this country. This is unconscionable and I completely disagree with YouTube's reasoning that, somehow, removing this misinformation didn't have a significant impact on the "risk of violence or other real-world harm". Studies have proved the opposite. I'd understand changing their policy from a blanket ban to a more targeted one to increase effectiveness but this complete reverse of policy makes no sense. I hope they adjust their policy again asap before too much damage is done. https://dangerousspeech.org/publications/ and https://www.cartercenter....nd-big-tech.pdf #IAmHereUS
