Our country is in a state of a widening gap between middle class and corporate owners. It’s not that people don’t want to work but they’re not going to work and not get paid a livable wage.
People in this country are literally working just to keep food and maybe a House over their head
The rates for housing are through the roof. The rates for food are through the roof. Gas prices are through the roof then you want somebody to work for a minimum wage of $7.50 an hour GTFOH.
And just so you know, I was a nurse in one of these packing plants .
It’s dangerous. Workers often end up with repetitive motion, injury back injuries, my phones slip and falls on greasy floors or injuries by the lifestyle.
Let me tell you a story . I had a worker who was kicked Medcenter chest by a 1500+ pound cow
The manager wanted me to put them back on the floor with ibuprofen
I refused. I also called the ambulance, admit, sternal chest injury without much impact placed the worker at rest for death or life-threatening arrhythmia.
So why would any grown adults with in a dangerous environment for a non living wage.
2ºDenise Thole No - several Republican states have changed the law to allow 14 yr. olds to work in meat processing plants and restaurants. These are often the unaccompanied illegal minors coming over the border. Their families know they can't be sent back so are tasked with working in the U.S so they can send money back home to desperate families. And these are desperate kids. It's hideous the way the new child labor laws take advantage of them. They often live with relatives - and are expected to pay rent to rent to them also. It's almost slavery - or indentured servitude. What happens when they turn 18? Are they sent home once we've used them up?

4ºAngela Liberatore you mean financial reasons like jobs. Do you know women in sweat shops in some Central American countries are working all day and most night with no breaks. They are locked into factory by armed guards. They keep bottles under sewing machines to pee in. If they are late to work after doors are locked they must work that entire day no pay or they are fired and blackballed from work. How do I know this in college I interviewed women for a part I wrote. They come here for better lives. In some cities the drug cartels own the city. They tell parents “your teen works for us now”. If parents say no they kill the child. Nothing parent can do. That is why women March every year in Venezuela over thousands of missing children.

The hunter Biden laptop story is a hoot too:
Hunter Biden had a bunch of emails and really salacious stuff on a* laptop that must have belonged to the Beau Biden Foundation because it had a sticker on it. It was broken and waterlogged, so he took it to a small computer repair shop in a state where he doesn't live, run by a blind guy who doesn't keep records or provide customer receipts; but he swears that it was Hunter Biden even though he couldn't see who the customer was. And when he never came back to pick up his repaired PC, the blind store owner cloned the hard drive and gave it to Rudy Giuliiani. Because, what else would he do with it? Then Giuliani loses it "in the mail". Because of course he did.
*oh now it’s three laptops? I guess? I don’t think even the MAGA morons know what they’re saying.
