Meta goal was to generate user interaction and draw more people to their platform. The AI will resemble a human and carry on human like conversation to a point one wouldn’t notice it was AI. So Snapchat likely create AI as tool to keep generating usage and collect data based on conversations had with the AI. From that data they are able to send targeted ads which generate revenue..
