2ºRobert Joseph why would we want to send Russia our money to help fund their war with Ukraine? That's idiotic. And there are other buyers for Russian oil, and it wouldn't affect the Supply and Demand that we have. We would just purchase a little more from somewhere else.
Also after President Biden's Executive Order, the Congress passed a bill to ban Russian imports as well, which Biden signed.

3ºRobert Joseph gas prices are determined by Supply and Demand, not presidents. Gas was so low under Trump in 2020 not for anything he did, but for the fact that COVID closed almost everything: airlines parked most of their planes; amusement parks and other tourist attractions were closed; people were laid off (like me), or were working from home, so no one was driving.
The result? There was a huge glut of oil on the market. In March of 2020, just before the Pandemic shut everything down, Saudi Arabia and Russia started a price war over oil, and putting even more oil on the market. By the time the world realized there was a Pandemic, there was hardly anywhere to store the oil that wasn't used.
So that means when demand collapses, so do prices. Trump didn't control that, and neither does Biden. However, it also must be noted that with the high price of gasoline, the oil giants are making record profits. How about condemning them instead?
