Ok let’s look at your article. The first statistics they quoted was the average age of covid deaths was 78 years old. How does that compare to the average death rate. Wow how about that covid deaths are a year older than the median death rate.
Go look at the sources for studies like these. This particular group advocates vaccines for toddlers who are at no risk. Even your article says all the deaths were old Americans. The article you linked shows Americans who died of covid live longer than those without covid.

Did you cry to your mommy that you were being controlled in an attempt to keep yourself and others safe from a virus that was causing people to die and or become very ill?
Just for the record, the virus was transmitted at my place of employment, it killed one of the employees, sent another to the hospital where they had to be on a ventilator.
The only time I missed work was when we weren't open, which was only 1 or 2 days.
Most places required a mask to enter and I wore one without crying about it.
I chose to get vaccinated and boosted.
With that being said, I only caught Covid once, and it was very mild, and I stayed home for 5 days so I wouldn't transmit it.

3ºStephen Gross I think there are variables. One, we know that hospital staff had supply challenges and were wearing the same mask for an extended period of time. While eventually, extended use became acceptable, there were no QC checks or controls (for example- how long before the straps were compromised by stretching so that the seal was less effective). It was later recommended that N95s be placed in a paper bag for 5 days to deactivate the virus. You can't do that if you have one issued mask that has to be used day over day. Then there is no accounting for what the healthcare worker was exposed to outside of work. If other family members in a household are exposed, they then expose the healthcare worker. For the rest of the population, mask use was all over the place. Most could not even get their hands on N95s and the techniques (for example, wearing the mask under the nose and only covering the mouth) and inconsistencies of use were apparent. I can't veer toward "masks are ineffective" for those reasons.

There however is and based on the timeline for the study wouldn't consider that the mortality rate was increasing as the Ro (reproduction rate) increased due to the limited understanding of what the 'ailment' was or how to treat it. The mortality rate decreased over time as COVID was diagnosed however the infection rate continued to increase. 2023 Dutch study shows there is only a 0.3% variance between masked and unmasked transmission or infection. While basic public health measure showed a greater variance.

Informed, educated, intelligent folk mask up and take precautions to take care of their health. The ignorant idiots, especially among the old boomer population (and increasingly among X) don't, and they die at MUCH higher rates, as we saw from the large population study in late fall of 2021 that compared counties that strongly voted for Trump over the ones that voted Biden. There were 60% higher death rates, translating into almost 300,000 more direct excess deaths among conservatives at that time (not including those that months or years later succumbed to health problems developed from their COVID illness).
So you do you. Fewer votes for hate, intolerance, self-destruction, and ignorance is a good thing.

8ºI'm immunocompromised and I was not sick for two yrs during masking. I stayed home and my kids kept their distance, washed hands well and hand sanitized. We were super careful. No one had covid in the house until they said it was ok and ppl could do things. I got covid and so did my special needs son. Was horrible. Glad I was vaccinated because I would not have survived. Even a small cold takes a month to get over. It's really a new age with germs. If ppl mask, well let them. Doesn't bother you. It kept me safe. I don't care if you don't. But for me, I wore mine for me. When you literally can't fight off infection, you have to do something, but then you get ppl who come after you and say crap. Like what?? I can't protect myself you ding . Just mind your business if you see ppl in a mask.

You should have figured that out a couple years ago, that not all masks are the same. If you're an idiot that can't figure out how to use one properly, that's no one's fault but your own.
Consistent and proper use of a (K)N-95 is highly effective. Even a surgical mask is somewhat effective, depending on the exposure and the setting. There's zero question about the effectiveness of proper use of a high quality mask in preventing COVID infection personally and preventing spreading it to others.
PS: It's no different than using a condom. Some people are idiots and don't know how to use them. Most, (and you aren't hiding it from anyone), simply don't want to use one, and will do anything and everything to deride their use to justify your own incompetence and self destructive risk-taking, "for your own pleasure" at the expense of others.
