1ºWhen some predator/pervert catches you off guard like that, it’s hard to say what you will do. There are some women who’ve had to deal with his kind and have promised themselves that if anything like that happened again, how they would handle it. This POS better be glad it wasn’t one of those women, who would’ve beat him into the next century right there had he done that to them. If that was me, I would oblige him with a call and hold a conference about what I said to him. I would’ve told him what I would do if I had to deal with that again. His ssa would be scared to come near me EVER. I’ve dealt with a boss like that before. He didn’t do that, but he hugged with without my consent and proceeded to touch himself daily in front on me. He was reported, got tied up in the company’s illegal drama and committed suicide. That man is sick and psycho me would let him know, I ain’t too well my d… self. I’m pissed for that young lady. The nerve of him. No one would reprimand her if she went in on him, or had someone else to on her behalf.
2ºIt was a split second kiss during a highly emotional win, but every picture I’ve seen makes it look like he stuck his tongue down her throat. She didn’t “consent”?! The entire f€@&Ing country was celebrating. I’ve seen Spanish men kiss in the exact same way after a win. This is ludicrous! As a woman, I’m telling y’all to chill out. Fire him?! Isn’t this extreme?! How about using it as a teachable moment and having a discussion. A team meeting? Nope ~ straight to the electric chair for his entire career for a split second congratulatory kiss. Think about it. No. You won’t change my mind. No, you don’t know me, so don’t make assumptions. This is not being handled in any appropriate way for the incident. Nope.
3ºAllison Wolf it does not say exactly this. The statement both in the first paragraph, and in particular in the one announcing the post, is inaccurate. Whereas it does not say we do, it does not expressly say that we never kiss on the lips. Leaving it there for the reader to interpret whether we do it or not. It is creating an unnecessary misunderstanding as it can be seen in numerous comments on the post where people are just saying this is 'our culture', when it is absolutely not. In addition, the statement where it is said that even men kiss each other is at the least inaccurate, if not completely false. Although I cannot rule out this may happen somewhere in Spain, in my region I have never seen two men kissing each other to greet each other. This is part of our (sexists) culture. Saying that in Spain everybody kisses each other, including between men, when it is not true, just adds up to create this imaginary picture of the Spanish culture of kissing, where such a situation would have happened even if Jenni had been a man. Well, it wouldn't have been the case.
4ºIt is not CNN ! Where are you taking this from? In Spain the custom is kissing on the cheeks (only between women, or between a man and a woman, not between men...-yeah, cultural sexism here...), but not with your boss! And NEVER EVER EVER on the lips!! (We do not even do it between family members, contrary to some practice in the US where I've seen parents kissing children on their lips. This is not done in Spain). Kissing an employee on the lips is not acceptable, under any circumstances! The only reason to do that is just simply the sexism of certain 'machirulos' like this one. Stop portraying/excusing this as a cultural thing. It is not!
5ºEquality the lie, just imagine all the Sports Leagues globally separating itself from women. The demand is made that they create their own organizations and infrastructure. Instead of creating what is needed, doing the work necessary to creating their own organizations and leagues. You will endlessly cry about someone not giving you what you want. That you are entitled to something at the expense of others. For all the advertisers, especially those engaged in activism, why don’t you sponsor and support the creation of women only teams and organizations for sports. The honest truth, hell will freeze over before this ever happen.
