Bryan Bissell, I think you misunderstood what Smith was trying to do or what the court decided. Smith was saying the question of presidential immunity was going to end up in front of the SCOTUS anyway, and it was in the nation's interest to get the arguments and decision out of the way.
So far, no federal court, regardless of who appointed the judges, has yet ruled that the events leading up to and including the January 6th insurrection were part of the President's constitutional responsibilities and therefore protected. To the contrary, rulings have said they were not with respect to other defendants, and SCOTUS has upheld those rulings.
I won't portend to predict how will rule in this case, but as for now, the court simply said nope, follow due process. That does not mean the case will not proceed as planned, as the Appeals Court has already said it would expedite it's hearing, meaning it will get to SCOTUS soon enough.
As for the Georgia case, that's actually one of the strongest in my opinion, because it is not at risk of federal interference. If you are not familiar with Georgia's RICO statutes and Fulton County's success prosecuting charges under it, you may be in for a surprise. But it will be televised, so everyone will be able to watch and judge for themselves.
As for Jack Smith, that's the first time I've heard the claim that his appointment as Special Council was unconstitutional. To my knowledge, his appointment has not been challenged in court, and I don't know under what grounds it could or would be challenged. Just because we don't like something doesn't make it illegal. That's America for ya.
2ºJonathan Walls To my knowledge, nobody has "flipped" on the former president yet, but the way RICO cases work is that the low hanging fruit negotiate plea deals first and agree to testify against those above them. Four defendants in Georgia have pled out, leaving 15 remaining on trial. I expect everyone is waiting to see how the decision presidential immunity plays out, and then there will be another round of plea deals. Generally, whoever accepts a plea first gets the best deal. The longer you hold out, the less likely you are to get favorable terms, or a deal at all.

4ºJonathan Walls Not likely. First they need a conviction. If he wins the General Election, the federal prosecutions will come to a halt and only the Georgia case will go forward. Even if they get a guilty verdict, it is unlikely the state would have the authority to imprison a sitting President. Of course, nothing like this has ever happened, so the future cannot be easily predicted. But it is more likely a potential VP would be angling to be on the top of the ticket in 2028, having proven themselves in office, unlike VP Pence, who discovered playing second fiddle does not always lead to First Chair.
