US-Mexico border: Tensions rise as the number of migrant apprehensions drop significantly | CNN

The Department of Homeland Security has attributed the drop to a few things.

The Texas state government's dehumanization of migrants, interference with US Border Patrol, and the like, is beyond the pale. President Biden is correct when he says that Texas does not have the authority to run its own immigration system. That purview is clearly federal. The US Congress is the body with the authority to determine immigration laws, set conditions for naturalization, and regulate the entry and status of non-citizens. Our executive branch enforces those laws.

By US and international law, people are allowed to seek asylum here and are entitled to a fair hearing. What Governor Abbott is doing gets in the way of dedicating resources in a manner that would help clear the backlog of applications and that would enable applicants to work and thus pay their own way earlier in the process. #IAmHereUS

#IamhereUS to say that Governor Abbott continues to grand stand - that doesn't mean there isn't a migration crisis - there is. However, Abbott continues to dehumanize migrants, and referring to migrants as "invaders". They are not. They are people seeking a better life. It can and does take years to obtain a visa to move here (even for those who are marrying a citizen). These folks don't feel as though they can wait years to come - the poverty, food insecurity, violence is staggering. At the same time, the US operates under the Constitution and our laws. It is the responsibility of the federal government to handle immigration, keeping federal agents from doing their job violates those laws (and serves no purpose except a photo op). Stopping folks to ask for "papers" is a violation of the 4th amendment. Removing migrants who have been processed and have told the government of their whereabouts for court appearances is a violation of the law (and is by definition, trafficking). Finally, the Constitution gives treaty power to the federal government. The US has a treaty with Mexico that prohibits building along and in the Rio Grande. I urge everyone to contact your Congressional representatives and tell them to update our immigration processes, allow migrants and asylum seekers to work immediately so that they can support themselves, and to fully fund 21st border security.

Immigration reform is obviously important. I wish that Congress would get their house in order and work on actual immigration policy instead of trying to pass the buck onto the president. Laws are made by Congress. If we want lasting reform instead of something that will be turned over every time we have a new president, it can't be done by executive order. There clearly are crises happening at the border, and in the countries of origin of the people trying to immigrate to the US. But we are literally a country created of immigrants. It's on the Statue of Liberty, it's written into our laws, it's part of our national identity. Closing the border is a denial of America, a denial of our history and our heritage, and a denial of the American dream. There is nothing illegal about trying to immigrate to a country. And it is perfectly legal to ask for asylum at the border. #iamhereus

And some one trusts the DHS who is responsible for open borders.

There are over 1.8 billion Muslims in the world! Approximately 20% of the Muslims are radicalized. 360 million! Yes, more than the population of the U.S! The rest have the potential to be radicalized. There are about 700,000 radicalized Muslims in the US, with a potential additional 2,750,000 for a total of 3,450,000. And more coming across our border daily.

Compare 2020 to the last 3 years. This cannot be by incompetence; it has to be part of the plan.

I filtered this chart to show "other" since there are no Muslim countries. You can see that there were 2 times more single adults that crossed the border in 2023 than in 2022, 2022 was 2.4 times those in 2021. Please take a look at the single adults in the bottom of the chart, the level of single adults is 50,000 in Oct and Nov 2024 or 25,000 per month. That could be 300,000 for 2024.

41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; 43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’

44 “Then they also will answer [a]Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ 45 Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ (biblegateway). No, Christianity is not the USA's state religion. Still, all beliefs contain wisdom and I put this out for consideration.

Courts hearing it. " The Justice Department is asking the Supreme Court to order Texas to stop blocking Border Patrol agents from a portion of the U.S.-Mexico border where large numbers of migrants have crossed in recent months " lol, Abbot wants to help who??? trump? Facts are Facts, . President Biden IS SENDIND AGENTS! But your TX Abbott is Blocking them , for what ? a war?

TX people don't know what they want until trump tells them. They Complain but cause some of their own problems. ...Abbott is costing TX HELP that President Biden IS SENDING.
So Abbott wants people crossing the boarder or doesn't want the people crossing???? He is NOT a Federal Employee , but it looks good for the republicans. Who seem to WANT people crossing... So they have their ONE crying game. .

CNN #Australia_JusticeforPendingSC476applicants
Recent decision about capping of SC476 by DOHA, Australia has left many applicants helpless and hopeless for the future. The said decision is totally unfair and unethical. As many applicants have invested money, struggles, and emotions in it. We all as 476 applicants sacrificed many good oppertunities during the waiting period. Many of us are even waiting of 3+ years. And now this is how Australian government paying us back by leaving us strangeled and helpless. In return, they are just paying us back our VAC. Although we have invested a significant amount other than VAC , like PTE (380 AUD) , Medical (270 AUD), Police Clearance & other documents (60 AUD). Who will be responsible for our other losses in terms of time, struggles and money wasted on doing Medical, PTE and getting other documents ready ? This is how great nations do ? It is simply against human rights and basic ethics. It is a humble request, kindly raise voice on our behalf that at least consider already submitted applications valid. This move from your side will highly be appreciated. As we all are suffering with great depression after this decision. But YOU can be our voice.
