Lujayn Ahm in an ideal world, maybe. But even this case is different, because the colonizer took control before the residents did. When the Roman Empire destroyed the Jewish kingdom and exiled the nation, the Arabs weren't yet majority residents. They slowly built up their population over those two thousand years while the Jews were in exile and Palestine was passing hands from colonizer to colonizer. So at what point did the Jews lose their rights to the land to the colonizers and when did the Arabs pick it up?

For me, it's not an issue. Land passes hand in war. Sometimes it's not fair but that's life. For two thousand years, my people were praying and yearning to return, but we acknowledged that we lost control. The Romans took it and then it went from hand to hand. Ultimately, it was up to us to get it back... which we did when the most recent colonizer (Britain) gave it to us and then we defended it in war.

Dave Nelson Personally, I don't see Israel as a terrorist. A country that's most certainly committing war crimes, has a history of crimes against humanity, and countless violations of human rights.

Now, if you go way back to when the country was first being setup, without a doubt it was founded on terrorism. The attacks carried out by various groups vying for power - man oh man, that was one seriously messed up situation.

Personally, I'm for a two-state system, both a Palestine and an Israel, but it's obvious that Israel never wanted it - they want the Palestinians out of the way for the land and the Israeli growing population as seen in countless land grabs. But still, I want that two-state system.

Beyond that, I want Jerusalem to become its own state - ruled by a triumvirate council of Christians, Jews, and Muslims. Yeah, I know that's unbelievably farfetched - but it has significance to all the Abrahamic religion there and all deserve unrestricted access to the area.

The free American people must not remain silent about this unjustified support for their government, for the war crimes committed by Israel against children and women in Gaza. These are atrocities and crimes against humanity, and it is unacceptable to support them and remain silent about them. Israel has abused international support for it and has become a terrorist organization that kills thousands. Children and women and using internationally banned weapons to indiscriminately bomb civilian population centers. What the Biden administration is doing is dangerous and greatly harms the reputation of America, which is a country that claims respect for the law, human rights, equality and justice.

Yoni Weinberg again, that is not what happened at all. Not to mention the multitude of times is real has not to mention the multitude of times Israel has violated international law. They continue to have illegal settlements in the West Bank, where they have apartheid rule over the ethnic Palestinians. Before the events of October 7th it was the most dangerous year in the West Bank for ethnic Palestinians, ever.
We have the Israeli government illegally selling the rights to the oil off the coast of Gaza. We have Israel in the leaders admitting that they want to displace the ethnic Palestinians from Gaza in an effort to diminish the population. As an American I'm appalled and are genocidal maniac in chief and no that my grandchildren and great-grandchildren will read about the atrocities heaped unethnic Palestinian population. It gives me great hope knowing that the younger generations have not ingested the propaganda that is put forth by the white supremacist governments of the West in order to dehumanize ethnic Arabians and that they will no longer fund these operations in the Middle East.

Sanaa Al Mattar once the Jewish people were expelled by the Romans, the land of Israel (or as the Romans started to call it, Palestine), past hands from kingdom to kingdom and state to state. In that period of Jewish exile, Arabs began to populate the desolate land, but they never had national or political control. They were residents on the land of other nations. The most recent nation to control the land, Britain, wanted to give back the land... But was torn between the historical nation (the Jews) and the current majority residents (the Arabs) and decided to split the land. The Arabs did not accept this proposal, wanted nothing less then everything they demanded, threw away the deal in exchange for violence... And lost. They lost the land they could have had, and remain, to this day, a nation without a land.

Zionism and Israeli zionists who sold lies to the world through the media for 75 years. Now the Israeli game is over. Now the world has come to know the truth. Now wait for your end. You had a lot of genocide for 75 years, in the name of self-defense. Now who was genocide in gaza. It will cause hatred in the whole world against you. No zionist will find a place to hide anywhere in the world. Nor will any seed of Zionism leave the rest. That this evil spread in the world again. Hitler committed suicide, after the genocide of jews. We will not even give zionist a chance to commit suicide

Regarding war, Poland has signed a pledge by G7 and EU leaders to supply Ukraine with weapons until it "achieves its military objectives"(?), meaning "modern military equipment", and not the old stuff they've been sending. Of course, Poland wanted in the deal, because they have their eye on acquiring western sections of Ukraine when the war is over. The challenging aspect of providing these weapons and ammo, is that Russian forces are adept at identifying weapons and ammo storage units, and striking each location easily. F-16 fighter planes would make good targets as well. European arsenals will simply deplete, Kiev will find a way to get rid of Zelensky, and Poland will get their regions.

Juan Perez what!! You claim to speak, "for us Americans..." but I know for a fact you only speak for a pro-Hamas terrorist-minded fraction of any population in any free country. While your voice goes hoarse yelling about the 20,000 Gazans, 337,000 Yemenis have died in the ongoing Yemeni Civil War. I bet you didn't even know that. 100,000 Sudanese have been killed and a million displaced. Any yelling from you about them? None. Millions of Uighur Muslims are languishing in China and at least 1,000,000 are dead. You understand nothing except your hate of Jews. You care nothing about suffering humanity or children. You don't fool anyone with your crocodile tears

Erinn Brainard Unfortunatelty, it's a terrible cycle of violence. I don't think Israel always does what's right, and certainly innocent Palestinians suffer at the hands of Israel. But the Palestinians have also dug themselves into a whole by convincing themselves that they are entitled from the river to the sea... even 1967 borders... and resorting to violence against anything and everything Israeli that moves. The narrative would be a lot different if the Palestinians realized that they blew their chance to have land when they said no the British and lost the war they started in 1948 (and 1967 etc...) and came to Israel with a willingness to take less then they want, and a legitimate desire to live peacefully side by side.

10ºErinn Brainard the quality of the land that the Palestinians were offered? You know the land that the Jews was offered was primarily the Negev desert.

And the land may have been inhabited by ethnic Arabians, but it doesn't change the fact that they never had control of the land. I agree, Israel/Palestine was a colony of greater nations for thousands of years after the Romans destroyed the Jewish kingdom and expelled the Jews... but eventually the British wanted to return the land from the colonizers, to its people... the Jews and the Arabs. And as a I said before, the Jews accepted this proposal while the Arabs refused and lost what they could have finally had... national and political control in the land they were residents of.
