Desalination, RO and Micro filtration are old technologies. The problem is the infrastructure to move the water from the ocean/seas inland. That is where the system is lacking. I’ve been to many national conferences. This is what made recycle water and the treatment of waste water , so appealing because you already have a source and it’s just a matter of treating it …which is easier to treat then saltwater then have no infrastructure to get it in inland….
