The truth about menopause and weight gain | CNN

Women gain about 1½ pounds per year during their 40s and 50s. But is menopause really to blame? As with so many health issues, it’s complicated.

T-bone Maverick God's beauty is a yearning within all of us, and we can discover it regardless of our whereabouts. I like to imagine nature as a limitless communication channel, whereby God speaks to us frequently. Thank you for sharing this beautiful post. Excuse me for barging in on your profile, but I was intrigued by your lovely timeline.I believe that sometimes, mere acquaintances turn into lifelong friendships, and I am confident that we have that potential.I attempted to send a friend request, but it seems to have gone awry. If it's not too much trouble, could you please extend a friend request my way? I sincerely hope you do, as it would be an absolute honor to have you as my friend.

I’m 62 when I was raising my children I bloomed up to 180 pounds I’m 5.2 when my last kid moved out I worked on me. I didn’t do it to healthy way. I went all the way down 104 pounds looked anorexic. After 10 years, I started introducing a little bit more food I maintain a healthy weight of 128 I work out with weights I go to 4-5 Zumba classes a week my joints hurt all the time though but stretching out kind of helps it so just cause you go through menopause doesn’t mean you have to be fat unless you have a medical condition i’ve tried and tried and tried, and I can’t get under 125 of course I probably gained some muscle because of the weights but I can’t complain about my body I still have guys hit on me and I’ve been married for 41 years

Terri Walsh Except for the HRT which is artificial and therefore presents dangers for some, I agree totally. (and, sorry, but 'a lot' is two words.. like 'a little').
I had an uneventful menopause physically (no hot flushes) - except for high tragedy in my life which probably brought it on a bit quicker (although I was 52 then) and the weight crept on.
I have never eaten unhealthily.. hated Coke and Fanta and burgers from teenage years, eaten organic wherever possible, naturally fit (horseriding, farm life and small meals especially when travelling all through my 20s). In France where I lived all up for 10 years, I kept fit (fast)walking dogs as I house/chateau-minded.
I am now 74 and forced to keep working for money; I work on a farm - am therefore pretty active. I don't eat between 7pm and midday. Do everything they say.. MCT oil, cider vinegar, naturally-derived supplements....I have one slice of sourdough bread under my healthy sandwich ingredients and a dinner that pretty much fits in the palm of my hand whatever it is, with half-a-glass of red wine, and with a one-inch piece (cut from a slice) of Gooey Lemon, or a sorbet for my 'dessert', usually with yoghurt. Or, when I'm too tired, a smoothie with all my natural powders.

On weekends I allow myself my Salute to France and have coffee with a croissant and pain au chocolat, and a muffin (not always at the same time) for my elevenses.
And still, over my good muscle tone, I'm carrying 10kg (22 lbs) which will not budge.
I know stress releases cortisol and also, as the hormones recede, it replaces them. I hate it, but I won't do anything medical/artificial to change it. So I'm stuck. Too far away from gyms (and too tired at night to contemplate it).
It shouldn't matter at my age, but I was a Babe and I've been so goooood! No vaccines for the last 52 years.. nothing to artificially destroy my metabolism.
I don't LOOK fat, and am still presentable in clothes which hide the gut and lower back area, but obviously I'm not ready to concede to the ravages of Time. (Sigh).

Funny how geriatic doctors want a stable weight. Stressing the body in certain ways at certain ages is not wise. Lots of lying going on in the industries. Lots of heavy people are fit and many skinny people at those ages are very ill. Concentration should be on health. After the age of 65, it's typically normal to lose 0.2 to 0.4 pounds of body weight every year. Unintentional weight loss can be dangerous if you lose 5% or more of your body weight every 6-12 months.May 1, 2023 WebMD fact. What do the studies say about women who have late menopause like not until 60 years of age. Should you even bother? What I find is the reserve energy is no longer accessible--what you use when stressed or need to react intensely. You still can but it takes a lot more to gear it up. Something is missing that initiated that so I have to structure that to make it happen. Then I have to eat a lot and take a nap. Mow the grass, clean three rooms, pack items, do my freelance job, write for 3 to 4 hours, play my guitar, always 40 minutes of exercise, etc. That is this month. So if I have to chase a dog or cat, deal with something emotionally painful, figure out what is wrong with the sink stuff that adds to that is when I notice it.... Oh and beef satisfy with a health cup of mixed microgreens restores muscles and brain paths and then a large dose of Dairy Queen Blizzard ice cream relaxes the muscles. Half hour nap.

The story of Sodom was the rape of immigrant human rights

The Sin of Sodom was arrogance that comes before a fall, injustice that breeds destruction

Government derives it's JUST Powers FROM THE Holy Spirit of the consent of the GOVERNED

Consent, agreement, is a Holy Spirit

There is no path to peace

Democracy is the PATH OF PEACE

Reason is the alternative to arrogance.

Dictatorships live and die by violence.

Democracy is reasonable conflict resolution

Democracy, The Age of Reason, is the attempt to learn the hell of war no more

Come let us Reason Together,
Out of Many: ONE

United We Stand with the UNALIENABLE RIGHT TO VOTE, the Foundation of Justice for all, Our Liberty Bell

Democracy is the Rainbow of Humanity lighting the way of peace after the flood of violent dictatorships
