Officials are trying to locate a mountain lion after it killed one person and injured another in an attack in a remote area near Georgetown, California, according to authorities.

1ºHere in oregon we have year round hunting tags for cougars. Guess how often tags are filled to meet annual quotas to keep their populations in control? NEVER. We've never hit the quota in recent years. They're hard to hunt and have big litters. Just like coyotes. And, legislators have made it illegal to hunt them with dogs, which was the most effective way.

In other words, it's inevitable that they'll make it in to human civilizations. Just like the coyote. Their numbers are too high. Next time it will be one of the reintroduced wolfs that you all love so much. Yeah, we didn't hunt those to extinction because they were so nice and fluffy.
