1ºI was born into a devout Catholic family. I was baptized, made my 1st communion and was an alter server for years. I later volunteered for the church and worked for the church running an after youth leadership program. Both my parents volunteered for the church. My mom also worked for the church for 25 running social services mainly to help the poorest in our community. That said, I am disgusted by this church. The money, time and resources needed to erect this massive structure should have and could have been used to serve people. The Catholic Church lost its way a long time ago. Our Lord was NOT about structure and fancy things; he was for the people. This was an incredibly misguided endeavor. Shame on those who approved its construction!
