ChatGPT’s boss claims nuclear fusion is the answer to AI’s soaring energy needs. Experts say not so fast | CNN

Artificial intelligence is energy-hungry and as companies race to make it bigger, smarter and more complex, its thirst for electricity will increase even further. This sets up a thorny problem for an industry pitching itself as a powerful tool to save the planet: a huge carbon footprint. Yet according to Sam Altman, head of ChatGPT creator OpenAI, there is a clear solution to this tricky dilemma: nuclear fusion.

Dadu Nunz that would be nice, but last I checked, we still hadn't fully figured out how to do Nuclear Fusion (not the same as Fission) in a giant reactor.
Nuclear Fusion would change the world forever, it would mean a zero emissions power generation that would be able to offer electricity for, theoretically, less than 1% of the cost of current power generation, and generate the power exponentially faster and in greater quantities than any other power generation.

We are talking about a technology that would make every other way to generate power unquestionably and completely obsolete.

So, even in a large power plant, it would be a massive key technology breakthrough.
Ironically, AI can be used to solve the rest of the Fusion puzzle. So in a sense AI needs to be used to figure out how to make more power for bigger AI.

We’ve seen this movie (great new fusion breakthrough) too many times over the last SIXTY years. For starters look at the British Zeta reactor (1957).
https://www.iter.org/newsline/-/2905
"Its first results were highly encouraging: in previous machines plasmas had rarely lasted more than a few microseconds; in Zeta they passed the millisecond mark—a full three orders of magnitude jump and a remarkable achievement. [Note - a far larger jump than the recent inertial confinement announcements]
By August, the machine's operators had switched from hydrogen to deuterium, increasing current to 200,000 amps. Suddenly, on the evening of the 30th—bingo! Zillions of neutrons began flooding out of the five-million-degree plasma."
This was in 1957.

There is no “breakthrough”: NIF fusion power still consumes 130 times more energy than it creates
If you gave me $400 and I gave you $3.15, would you consider yourself wealthier? That's a financial analogy for the supposed fusion power "breakthrough."

David Apatía Hunt True. But at the same time its benefits will find ways into our life and to turn that off will cause a huge diaruption to our lives that we might not be able to withstand. Sort of like how taking away the internet at this point would cause huge disruptions. We become reliant on these technologies, which probably isnt the best thing. We become more fragile the more we incorporate these technologies into our lives. The benefits are too hard to resist. It's tough. I'd rather have it than not. We are setting ourselves up for the big fall, but right now it's party fun time!

Meem Magazine...our mirror:
Member of the Knesset, Almog Cohen, from the Jewish Power Party led by Ben Gvir: “The best time to invade #Rafah is in the month of #Ramadan and break the bones of the Palestinians while they are fasting and tired.. I ask the Prime Minister to order the army to enter Rafah and kill them, kill them.”

“The paramedic gave false testimony. The allegations that were published about the sexual assault on girls on October 7th were found to be false.” After 5 months of killing and abuse in Gaza, “The New York Times” demolishes a false story it spread regarding alleged sexual assaults on October 7th!

British thinker and lecturer at the University of Cambridge, Professor Paul Keller: “October 7th completely exposed Israel. It showed that Israel is dysfunctional... that it is not normal... If this were a human being, he would be in a mental hospital.”

Ah, the eternal quest for artificial intelligence, fueled by an insatiable appetite for electricity. It's like AI is on a permanent energy binge, constantly asking for another wattage refill. And now, as companies race to make AI bigger, smarter, and more complex, it's like the AI is shouting, "Feed me, Seymour!" But fear not, for Sam Altman rides in on the nuclear fusion steed, wielding the mighty promise of harnessing the power of the sun to quench AI's thirst. It's like trying to power a supercomputer with the energy of a billion suns – talk about overkill! Who knew that saving the planet involved turning AI into a mini-sun? Just imagine, instead of worrying about your AI crashing, you'll be concerned about it going supernova!

Now that I am thinking about it I don’t think they know how to use AI. Virtual crap is that even AI in a computer program. You mightiest will get a Dictionary Or do research. What is on a book is as common. Artificial inteligente to proceed in a fictional battle. A blockchain of current research. So how does one calls it AI if numbers in creating the problem backs up the system?? It’s a bunch of bullshiting people with the meaning of telling people AI in computers is a new thing for the world so people can give them money for research that don’t exist.
