Alec Baldwin had ‘no control of his own emotions’ on ‘Rust’ set, prosecutors claim in new legal filing | CNN

Special prosecutors in New Mexico claim in a new legal filing that actor Alec Baldwin’s behavior on the “Rust” movie set contributed to “safety comprises” that led to the fatal shooting of the film’s cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in 2021.

Michael Heller You really are committed to your ignorance on this topic. The “Hollywood” union rules are in place and very strict BECAUSE the film and television industry takes safety on set very seriously. It is because of how seriously that it is taken that only a weapons professional is allowed to handle a gun (even a rubber one) when the camera isn’t rolling.

If the weapons professional did their job, and then I as an actor was allowed to go behind them and start opening everything up for my own inspection, I could accidentally (or on purpose) undo the safety. Unlike your experience on a shooting range or out hunting, a film set is a controlled environment specifically to keep everyone safe from cords, equipment, and weapons.

Marc Williams obviously the DA, prosecutor, nor police agree with your legal assessment. Gun safety 101 tells you the handler is always responsible for said weapon. I would take gun safety 101 over an ignorant union rule, that cost someone their life. Then he lied about pulling the trigger and even when proven the amount of force for it to go off, he still denied it. He is the only person who pulled that trigger, he is an accessory. He made working conditions horrible and people had enough of his overbearing ego. There’s a reason it call manslaughter and it fits here. He didn’t intend to kill somebody but his negligence caused someone’s death. No different than a drunk driver, I’m sure they never left for the bar thinking they were going to kill someone.

Cliff Castro that literally is not his responsibility. That’s what you are not understanding here. This isn’t private life. This isn’t his personal gun. If it were that would be completely different. This is a movie set where he is trusting that the person in charge of the weapons and ammo did their job. That’s it that’s all. You’re taking a situation of someone who owns a weapon and a safety course and putting that into a completely different situation. Did the director of the Movie The Crow take responsibility for Brandon Lee’s death?? No because it wasn’t their responsibility to bring the guns and ammo on the set for that movie.

He literally had nothing to do with it. The lady who was in charge of the guns for the movie brought live ammo on the set and put it in the guns. He literally was just the director but the family is suing him because he is the one with the most money. Did the director for the movie The Crow take responsibility for Brandon Lees’s death?? No, because it was the person hired for the weapons responsibility. They are suing him because he has a lot of money and not the lady responsible. My wife works in law people. When the police kill a person does the family sue the officer or the PD??? The PD ….why??? Because the “PD” or city has all the money

Rick Crouch not his gun and not his job. If this happened at his home this would be a completely different case. Every single movie with guns hire a weaponsmith to provide the guns and blanks. They are responsible for the safety of the set. They literally have 1 job. It is no one else’s job or responsibility but theirs. He assumed they did their job. That’s not his fault. You are literally trying to blame him for someone else not doing their job. Let’s look at the movie The Crow. Did that movie producer take responsibility for Brandon Lees death??? Nope because it wasn’t his fault.
