1ºEach sovereign nation is responsible for the politics , economics , health and the security of its citizens . The western nations have been very successful at providing education , health services and a strong infrastructure to most but not all of their people . The west also has law and order to a large extent . It is very sad and disappointing that all the assistance that has been provided to other countries not so fortunate has fallen into the wrong hands . Many volunteers give their lives in trying to help . In the countries struggling to survive , without clean water , food and medical services we will see internal power struggles with expensive weapons being used indiscriminately. Neither President Biden nor President Trump can solve the world wide issues . Perhaps we all need to adopt the phrase , “ do unto others , what I would like to be done to me . “ Be kind to each other , help where we can …..

the issue...
1. It was set up to fail after independence... the European powers conspired to not trade with them and make them fail.
2. France demanded money for a war they lost, which may be one of the first times the winners were made to pay the losers.
3. The leaders were not prepared or trained for leadership. I learned this from my Haitian friend. The first generation were revolutionary fighters. They were not trained on how to govern a country or lead people. This was also an issue with most African nations.
4. The Eurocentric powers(including the US) interfered in the development. They were invaded several times by other countries. The last president was assassinated by people who may have either been Americans or were backed by America.
So you abasically have a country that suffers from arrested development and is about 100 years behind time and lacks the resources and infrastructure to catch up.
