Family of Chicago man fatally shot by police files federal civil rights lawsuit against city and tactical officers

The family of Dexter Reed, a 26-year-old Black man who was killed in a hail of bullets fired by police during a traffic stop in Chicago last month, filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the city and five police officers.

He was already in trouble, plus the trouble included Gun Charges. Which was learned when they ran his information. He is stopped for a seatbelt violation, which has happened to me, and I didn't shoot at anyone over it. Then after acting squirrelly, he was asked to roll down the window and stop rolling it back up, yet he continued.........and then he shot at them first, striking an officer.
Their training then, is to all shoot at the shooter because 'surprisingly' police seldom hit what they aim at, out of 96 bullets, what .... 4 hit him and if he still had the gun in his hand the shooting would continue until his hands were clear and raised wherever he was...........or until he was incapacitated. I hate things like this keep happening, but we must teach our kids to comply, to not argue, challenge or ......... break the law.

He shot at the officers first. Here we go with the bc how the criminal justice system is biased against minorities but the people complaining are the ones ok with the criminal justice system being unfair the former President just because their leader needs help to flip voters. Democratic Judges that are putting anti Trump jurors on the stand despite the Defense objections, blocking potential Defenses....I wonder did Trump shoot at officers like this guy did? But you all are getting behind this guy and whining about how unfair the criminal justice system is. He deserved what he got shouldn't shoot at officers

Eileen Roy Papas the militia is defined in USC as follows:

"The militia of the United States consists of
all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age
and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32,
under 45 years of age who are, or who have made
a declaration of intention to become, citizens of
the United States and of female citizens of the
United States who are members of the National
Guard.
(b) The classes of the militia are—
(1) the organized militia, which consists of
the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and
(2) the unorganized militia, which consists of
the members of the militia who are not mem-
bers of the National Guard or the Naval Mili-
tia"

On top of that, there is no "gun show loophole". I've never bought a firearm at a gun show that I did not go through a background check. The ones around here are about 70-80% dealers. I'm going to go out on a limb and say you've neveer been to one. What you want to do is ensure I can't sell a legally owned possession without some kind of permission slip.

And no, it's not that "gun owners can't keep weapon out of hands of these people". The only way they could get any of my weapons is steal them. That's also illegal. It's virtually guaranteed that the perp carries a long history of crimes and is out of jail either through "bail reform", light sentences, or whatever.

Lock up the perps and keep them locked up for a long time and then we'll talk.

Eileen Roy Papas they do it everywhere. The fact that they do it at gun shows as well is irrelevant.

But for poops and giggles, mostly for giggles, let's put the reality out there....

"Between 2017 and 2021, only 3% (41,810) of the 1,482,861 crime guns traced to a purchaser were
acquired from FFLs at a gun show.

The number of traced crime guns acquired from FFLs at gun shows increased by 14% from 2017 (7,612) to 2019 (8,667).
The number of traced crime guns acquired from FFLs at gun shows then decreased by 5% in 2020
(8,246), most likely due to local restrictions on gun shows associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Overall, the number of traced crime guns acquired from FFLs at gun shows increased by 19% from 2017
(7,612) to 2021 (9,089)"

Note your key....FFL's. They are required to do background checks or lose their license and face jail time.

Even the Giffords goofs...

"Data from the ATF shows that about 8,300 crime guns recovered by law enforcement every year are originally sold by licensed dealers at gun shows.'

Joe's been selling the boogeyman to push for gun control. Apparently you ate a big pile of it.
