Janelle Stevens No, it just proves how many ignorant people allow CNN to do their thinking for them. If you people actually believe that there was no such thing as anti-vaxxers before Trump and the pandemic, then I’m truly embarrassed for you. I didn’t think it was even possible to be so brainwashed.

Try looking up where the more concentrated pockets of cases have been reported here in the U.S., try learning a little. Look at the statistics showing childhood immunization rates among different groups. I’ve given nothing but facts to back up my argument, calling me blind and ignorant is clearly projection on your part.

As people continue to not trust science, it will become worse. What will you think, if your child gets hard measles, where the fever causes damage to brain? This happened to my aunt. It was heartbreaking. No longer able to fend for herself, she needed extra care for years. She was so sweet. It was hard to see how she had changed. But she holds so many memories for me. But back then, the vaccine wasn't available to my grandma and many poor people. Get off your fake crying about how science is not saving us. Think of the possible consequences to your beautiful children.

So if you are treated for symptoms, given vitamin A, and fever reduction medications your chances of survival are better…. You do you. Assuming you don’t have a problem with vaccines maybe it is right for you. I’ll do me. Assuming my immunity issues and that of a TON of other people in the US I’m content with natural measures that are known to be healthy measures and resort to antibiotics if needed in the rare case my rash turns to pneumonia. Either way, if you are vaccinated you shouldn’t be bothered by my not being vaccinated :). We both get our way. I’m out.

Matt Linville Of course we can't do anything about people who sneak in... And we need to do everything possible to prevent people from sneaking in... Other than those immigrants, who are actually illegals, all other immigrants get vaccinated, including all the ones rushing to come in at entry points, which is where most of them are coming to... So if there's an outbreak in a certain area, that means that more people wasn't vaccinated and caused the outbreak... But that could happen in any community no matter what the demographics are... It would be an easy argument to make if there was outbreaks all over America in predominantly immigrant areas, but that's not happening...

Kelley Kempski All states have exemptions for vaccines... In fact all but three states allows people to send kids to school unvaccinated... And when someone comes to America, unless they sneak in without anyone knowing, then they get vaccinated before they enter America... And if the government is housing them, that means the government let them in and they're not illegals... And if it was spread by 'illegal unvaccinated' immigrants, then there would be outbreaks of the measles in immigrant communities... One example of a measles outbreak doesn't mean that immigrants are bringing it in and spreading it.... Stop watching Fox"news" and educate yourself on facts, because it seems someone is telling you the wrong facts and you're believing them without question...

Judy Lyle Trapani Too bad you didn’t do your own research, otherwise you would see that these outbreaks are occurring in other countries, and not because of anti-vaxx sentiment. There were 41 confirmed cases of measles in the United States last year, out of 321,582 cases reported worldwide. That’s 41 in a country with a population exceeding 330 million, but go ahead and make this about people who decided not to take something that hadn’t been clinically tested in accordance with FDA guidelines, and has ultimately proved to be ineffective at stopping the spread, while ignoring the fact that over 93% of kindergartners have received their MMR series. I guess hate knows no bounds, even if you have to pull a muscle to stretch far enough to make it about your political enemies.

Debbie Fairo Ryan from the NIH:The MMR vaccine contains live attenuated measles virus. It is estimated that administration of this vaccine is associated with moderate (39.4°C) fever in as many as 5% of recipients, and a rash in approximately 2% of those receiving immunization (3). These events typically occur approximately five to 12 days following immunization and often resolve without medical intervention. These systemic effects are likely caused by replication of the attenuated strains and host immune reaction. It has been shown that following the immunization of healthy children, the measles virus can be detected in urine as early as one day and as late as 14 days (4). https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3381670/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3381670/

Jerred Hawkins 1) rare but true 2) it does not ignore any treatment. You treat symptoms like fever with fever medication and if one got pneumonia they would get an antibiotic 3) if you do t take fever medication and keep a fever low any fever causing disease could do brain damage. Take your medication. 4) rare and usually in those with HIV or other serious health issues like malnutrition. 5) we used to have measles parties so everyone would get it and get over it for life. My audience is small in the big picture. It I don’t know anyone permanently damaged do you?

Marlene Samuel Maldonado Are they telling parents not to follow the state’s childhood vaccination regulations? Do students no longer need proof of immunizations to enroll in public schools? Did no one in Florida, or even the country, ever correlate immunizations with autism until DeSantis became Governor? Do you know the difference between early childhood immunizations like measles, mumps, polio, etc., and the Covid-19 shots? Do you understand what “global” means? Are you capable of using basic logic? One of the Florida counties with a so called “outbreak” this year has a school vaccination rate of nearly 96%, 3% higher than the the national average, can we blame the higher vaccination rate on DeSantis too, or is that not how it works in the warped reality of the left? Perhaps Florida experiences ebbs and flows in communicable diseases because they are the third most populous state, yet are the 22nd largest in size. Now add the second highest rate of tourism to the mix.

10ºJanelle Stevens Is that all you have? No intelligent response? This has nothing to do with my political views, but obviously yours have affected your ability to use logic and reasoning. By the way, it’s far more than just “Trumpers” who didn’t get the COVID vaccine (since that seems to be the only direction you want to go with this), many college aged people, and minorities chose to forgo the Covid shot. Demographics that tend to lean left. But again, we’re talking about MMR series vaccines, and an outbreak that’s is taking place outside the US. If you’re having difficulty understanding that, that’s not my problem.
