Boeing has lost $32 billion since 2019, with no end in sight. How long can it keep losing money? | CNN Business

Few companies have lost more than the $32 billion that Boeing has lost in the last five years. And fewer companies could lose that kind of money and not be facing bankruptcy — or worse.

Here is the problem, companies like Boeing that make something physical that is complex and grand in scale, they are caught in the great financial scam of printed money, and artificially valued trillion dollar data processing companies and social networks that have no real revenue, and companies like Tesla- that have never truly made a profit in 15 yrs, yet their market cap is almost a trillions- when they need operating revenue they just sell stock, or Facebook- honestly where is the significant revenue?.....this nonsense needs to end, the market needs to crash, and classical reality in business needs to re-emerge.

Randy Snow bingo. I’ve never heard someone get it so clearly. This is the exact problem with our economy and our country, and the world for that matter. The other problem is that there is NO way to start an innovative company with real complex product now without being forced to make it a military product, first. Boom aviation for example…they found out real quick they need to start with the military and hopes and dreams don’t cut it. Call Boeing evil or whatnot. And that may be true. But its motivations are ultimately driven by economics of false valuation of tech companies on Wall Street. Its move away from commercial aviation, to a military contractor, is economic.

Two Boeing aircraft whistleblowers have wound up dead. The latest is Joshua Dean, a former quality auditor who died from a sudden illness, he was 45. Dean alleged that he was fired last year, after filing his complaint with the FAA for raising safety concerns where mechanics were improperly drilling holes in the aft pressure bulkhead of the Max. In March, John Barnett, 62, was found dead in his car from an apparent self-inflected gunshot wound. Barnett was a quality control engineer who testified against Boeing after finding metal shavings around wiring that was a risk of "catastrophic" injury during flight. He was in good spirits, looking forward to retirement.

I think many of them have personal ties to Boeing. Which was why they were allowed to basically oversee themselves and gave us the 737 Max that had two fatal crashes due to their computer system and "lol pilots don't need to know how this works!" thinking. Boeing is also the largest American plane manufacturer. Lockheed is only doing military and Airbus isn't US. Can't imagine them letting the biggest US aircraft manufacturing company go down. (Looks like Lockheed does most of the military, but who the hell would want a Boeing made product for military use? Those people can't even manage to ensure screws are tight.)

Boeing is going nowhere. Airbus is being helped and protected financially by all five European countries that were involved in the business, Germany, UK, France, Spain and Netherlands. If the government here tries to help Boeing the citizens cries wolf. This put Boeing at disadvantage competition wise. The good thing is Boeing is like a monopoly in United States. They are going nowhere. If you think running Boeing is easy, go start up another aircraft manufacturing company. All Boeing needs to do is to tighten their safety oversight. They don't have a level playing field competing with Airbus. Do some research about airliners manufacturing and appreciate a great company you've got.

Curtis Griesel Republicans have bastardized capitalism in this country to serve only the wealthy. The lowest wages, the most cheaply made products, at the highest prices possible. Why? "Shareholder Value". It all goes to stock buybacks and dividends to the stockholders. Who owns the stock? Well, 90% of all stocks are owned by the obscenely wealthy. Those same obscenely wealthy that have unlimited deep pockets for Republican PAC's, campaigns, and Dark Money pools. Billionaires funded the nomination of Every single Republican Supreme Court nominee going back many decades. It is all rigged against the working people by the wealthy. Look into it, you will see.

The trouble started when Boeing moved management to Chicago. They detached from airplane building and became just another money grubbing corporation. They got so interested in money, they forgot they were building airplanes. Cost cutting became their guide. The 787 was the first plane to go substandard due to saving money for themselves & their almighty stockholders. They took money that should have gone into quality control on the 787 and used it for stock buybacks. That same attitude infected the 737 Max. Parts don't fit, get left off, are not inspected. They are destroying the company themselves because they forgot they were building airplanes, not cereal boxes.

Ralph Perez has a great day too so I think he’s a good fit to play with us this season if he wants us back in his team he will have a chance of getting us in a few years but we need him in a few months and I don’t know how to play with the team so we need him but we can play with the squad we can get a chance and then if he needs a good start we will get a chance at the end but we can get to a good point with the team we can still play him and get a chance but we can still get

10ºCurtis Griesel both this and my previous comment reflect severe design and structural flaws occurring on Airbus currently that's unfortunately being hidden because Airbus gets to hide behind EU policies that protect the privacy and practices of a business against media and defamation. Unfortunately for Boeing we have Freedom of Press here in America.

Want your clues Airbus is having problems? Look at the fact that Spirit Aero, the supplier for the MAX etc also supplies Airbus.

Already hundreds of less than 2 year old NEOs parked. A350-9s are already getting parked. Airbus themselves have announced QA issues and are now warning they are having to slow down production themselves. They won't admit it but I'll tell you right now it's because EASA is hot on their tails right now. Both NEO and A350 are an eyelash away from grounding and the only reason they haven't in the US yet is because of Delta throwing a pity fit and their CEO being best of friends with Mr Whitaker.

Out of your mind if you think Airbus is doing better than Boeing. The only*** place in both commercial or defense Airbus is winning is the A321 and with respective carriers already financially preparing to see a quarter of them grounded by end of the year (the reason for all the surprise MAX8, MAX9 orders from historically majority/ all Airbus operators) now you know why.

Look at United's CEO. That same week he tried to bash Boeing over AS's maintenance fault, he had to ground 3 of his NEOs. But his MAX and 787s were doing just fine. He's had to park more NEOs since.

Suddenly UA stated they have no intent to purchase anymore Airbus, will lease A321s until the rest of their MAX9 enter fleet then soon as FAA quits being 2 faced denying MAX10 cert over the same things they're somehow OK with Airbus having and certify it, the A321s are done.

And given some airlines have already cancelled A350 for 787-9, 777X, all said and done with the recent 787 orders from Hawaiin, Thai, Lufthansa, etc there will be about 600 more 787 in service.

Already more global orders for 777X than total number of A350s produced so far and 777X is on track to enter service this fall. Airbus is in trouble and trust me they know it.

As for Embraer, they can't touch Boeing. The E195 is having problems. That's their largest civilian product.

And Canada?? Who are they. Perhaps had they not sold the BCS to Airbus they'd be in a position of power right now especially since with the NEOs falling apart Airbus is suddenly having to rely so heavily on it. Canada really had a shot of returning to the commercial aviation industry.

Back to Europe. Pretty sad they had to merge all their aircraft manufacturers, funds, and technical know how and are still getting curb stomped on the global stage by Boeing.
