Georgia rocked by protests as government pushes Putin-style ‘foreign agent’ bill | CNN

Thousands of Georgians have for the past month gathered each night outside the country’s parliament, facing down tear gas and water cannons fired by increasingly brutal police, to protest a bill they fear will torpedo its bid to join the EU and push it further into the Kremlin’s orbit.

Nate Hollister having worked in grocery for a decade? Everyone. We consistently have to up our stand ground beef packs from just under 1 lb to around 1.15lbs. it adds up. Regionally there are patterns with the amount of beef and pork consumption.
There's also the insidious aspect of packaging and marketing of our foods. Not only have the prices of we decreased over the last year while prices increase the amount inside the package has also decreased. So we're paying over 30% more for 10% less product. You see this in pasta where a lot of them are now selling in the same size box but only containing 12 oz and not 16, with a few varieties caring 14 oz. You see this in sauces where the containers are still the same size and the price has consistently gone up over the last 3 years but the amount inside the containers is less than it was 3 years ago. This is not large grocery store chains like Walmart, Krogers, First Foods passing along price increase to the customers because if that were the case their profitability margins would not have gone up to record high levels. If your base product increases 30% and you raised the price of your finished product 30%. You would still make the same profit margin.
