The American dream of homeownership is looking more like a nightmare.

Brenda Brady Back in the day I would have disagreed with you. But these days homes are so expensive that buying is no longer a benefit because the idea was you'd have a relatively low mortgage and save money over the years so you could afford those expensive repairs as needed. Nowadays it's an expensive house with high mortgage and then you still have to find a way to afford to make repairs. I gave up on homeownership and it doesn't matter now because at my age, I'll either pay mortgage or rent for the rest of my life. People bounce around more between locations and jobs, having a house makes relocating for any reason, more difficult. Now I pay $1,000 a month. Anything that goes wrong? Not my financial problem. I feel far less stress over renting now that I have the perspective of owning a brand new home and an old home that had similar results in increased cost. Oh and contractors have really declined in their communications and quality of work. Everyone I know has ran into contractor issue despite having fantastic ratings. Contractors keep blaming their new employees or lack of employees. This makes me question the quality of work on homes.

My rent went from $1000 for my condo to $1500 in one year..& there is nothing affordable out there if you can find anything available. I have brain tumors & I can't afford $1500 a month on rent. What are the elderly, disabled, veterans etc supposed to do with these rent prices from New owners. There is nothing out there..they can't survive on $800 to $1200 a month income if rent is $1500 to $3000 a month & they can't work. If I had kids I could probably get help but that's not happening. Sorry folks it's the truth..plus if I wasn't American I'd get assistance. Sorry it's true..if you say no then you have no clue or idea of how the system works. Facts folks not talking negative about people..it's the facts...call your local assistance office & they'll tell you the same thing..

Craig Baron I don’t believe that’s the point. The money sits in the value of the homes. People can’t buy houses that aren’t for sell. And the ones that are for sale the big conglomerates come in and pay over value to eliminate competition.

They are buying up all the residential homes in the country. The less of supply to buy raises the value of the supply. When 2 or 3 conglomerates own everything the values skyrocket and the elites and state gain all the power and money.

And the population depends on them for homes to rent and live.

In the next 100 years. No one will own a home or property Massive conglomerates in relationship with the state will own it all and rent to the population. Force people into urban areas.

This is a global agenda. New world order. No national sovereignty. All nations will answer to a centralized authority.

The final model of this agenda will be after you and I are loooong gone. But we are in the noticeable beginning stages.

Ann
you dont think you paid for that work ?

lets see, the market value of a house i bought in the late 80's today is about x4 what i paid for it.

myself and each owner since then has sold the house for more than double what they paid for it when they bought it.

when you rent you pay for a residence someone else owns and when you move out you will probably not even get your damage deposit back but the owner will still own the unit and all the equity you paid into it for them. you enriched the owner.

renters make owners very rich by paying for their appreciating asset.

renting makes the wealthy few big corporations richer and richer

and robs average americans of all the financial advantages of home ownership.

american society is in steep steep decline.

the only way to restore the middle class, their ability to buy and benefit from home ownership is congress must act to limit domestic and foriegn massive companies from buying up and owning and controlling massive amounts of american housing.

the problem is our elected officials are primarily bought and paid for pawns of the big companies.

people here in tennessee i used to respect are literally selling out our state roads to foreign companies that will control and profit from them and you know those politicians are bought and paid for by those companies. these are people who i thought once were decent credible people, but money corrupts.

The problem is the prices that the liberal Democrats are setting. Their policies are making it harder for your dollar to have the same purchasing power.

Look at the inflation we have had in the last four years. I get it, both sides are at fault for inflation over the years, but Democrats are proposing that US citizens work until 70 years old in order to get Social Security. The life expectancy according to the CDC is 73.3 years for men . Why would I want to work for 56 years of my life in order to get Social Security when I’m 70 years old. This is a problem

Americans need to elect a president who is relevant to the working age. We need better choices.
