In a rebuke to President Trump, Gov. Newsom pardons refugees facing deportation

However, you can deport a naturalized one. It is more complicated. But it is possible.

Here is the thing that a good percentage are unaware of. A country is under no obligation to accept a deportee. There are estimated to be about 30+ countries worldwide who will not accept our deportees. State won't give a precise count, nor an explanation why they won't accept them. Or even identify them. But reliable sources have estimated the number.

The other thing is that by international treaty a country is not obligated to accept a criminal. I don't recall the precise details, whether there are categories for that, etc. But they can refuse to accept a criminal.

So, all in all, it's complicated.
